Hello Christopher Roy Denton ,

This review is written on behalf of House Stark for "Game of Thrones. Happy account anniversary!

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

This was the only poem of yours I've reviewed that I didn't have to read first, because you provided a great video where you read it to me!

I'm kidding, of course. I actually didn't even see the video until I had read the poem. I did think that the video was a fantastic touch, however, and it's really neat that you put that in there. In fact, I think I actually got more out of the poem having it read to me, so thanks for including that!

This was a well-crafted, emotional poem and it has a really good sound to it. It's very consistent, and I think the metaphor was perfect.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I do have a suggestion, not for the piece but for you, generally. If you enjoyed doing the video, that might be a great way to get more traction for your writing. If you started up a narration channel, I'm sure there are a lot of people who could find your work that way. It's something to consider at least, if you haven't already thought about it.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I thought this was a great poem and a great poem narration. I hope the review has been helpful!

Sincerely,

Cat

Hello Christopher Roy Denton ,

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

The strongest element of the poem for me was the stance that you took on various end of the world theories. The fact that you don't get wrapped up in outlandish ideas about how the world will end draws even more attention to the more immanent threat to the planet.

The way that you went about introducing the idea behind this poem was a little roundabout, but overall very effective.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The only thing I would suggest is that you consider revisiting this idea as a longer poem.

The reason why I think this might be better as something longer is because I think the impact of the theories not scaring you as much as reality would have a stronger impact if the end of the world theories were a little more coherent. The way that they're written right now seems a little random and gives the impression of being forced.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

This was a good piece. It made me think, it brought attention to reality, and hopefully more people will read it and be inspired to be less selfish. We need a lot of change if we're going to avoid the end of the world.

Sincerely,

Cat

Hello Christopher Roy Denton ,

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

I loved the detail and the intense characterization focus on this. The story was a little piece of Miguel's life, and I felt like I really got to know him in that short span of time, and that I got a good feel for who he was as a person.

There was also something in there that struck me as very powerful:

He didn't have much faith in his fragile, crippled body, but he remembered Jesus once said that you only needed faith the size of a mustard seed to move mountains. Surely, he could scrape together that much confidence. Surely, he could survive a little longer. Surely, he could rise again just one more time.

I thought this was a beautiful section. I often find myself with less faith than the average person, often with no faith at all, but I really loved the determination emanating from this excerpt, and I think it did a great job showing Miguel's confidence.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I don't have any suggestions for you for this one, either.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

Although I'm not typically one for the special agent story, this was beautifully written and you did such a good show introducing Miguel to your audience. Really, really fantastic job.

Sincerely,

Cat

Hello Christopher Roy Denton ,

This review is written on behalf of House Stark for "Game of Thrones. Happy account anniversary!

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

This was very chaotic.

For a story that's only 2,000 words this piece really takes the audience on a wild ride, I have to admit. It was unexpected and it really kept me on my toes. I liked the political commentary, although it was a bit strange, and I liked that it wasn't overly obvious.

Chris Burke also seems like he is quite the character, and I have a feeling that I'd like to learn more about him, his religion, and the material he works on.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

Like with the zombie story, I felt like this one was paced a little too quickly. While that helps to accurately capture the feeling of the chaos surrounding the situation, I do prefer the stories that focus a little more on the characters and how they react emotionally to these sort of speculative scenarios.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that this review has been somewhat helpful to you. This wasn't my favorite of your stories, but like everything on your portfolio it was engaging and the premise gave me a lot to think about.

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

I liked the piece overall. I like the bold actions that Glenda takes to try and help alleviate the worse of the women's suffering in her family. She is a very interesting character, and in her own way, very brave. Although I would have liked to see her take a bit more action, especially when it came to the children, I think trying to forgive her for that is part of what makes this piece so interesting - and it's not exactly like she can be blamed, considering how she grew up.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The only thing is that I would have liked to understand Glenda's motivations a little bit more. For as interesting as her actions were, I feel like everything she did (and how she went about doing it) opened up about a million questions, none of which were answered.

A little bit of mystery can be a great thing in fiction, but some more insight might have been really helpful in this instance.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that the review was helpful. This was an interesting concept, and a great, multi-dimensional character who I didn't really understand *Laugh* In all seriousness though, she did get me thinking, and that's a great thing for a character to do.

Sincerely,

Cat

I really liked this one. I feel like it didn't tell a complete story, but it made for a fascinating bit of insight into the lives of a few characters. The setting was vivid, the dialogue was believable, and the priest had a very warming change of heart.

Of course, my favorite character was Henri. He had a small part, but it was very important and I like that he was included.

I also loved the annotations with the source links! I haven't followed them yet, but I intend to and I sincerely thank you for including them. These are exactly the kind of historical basis links that I like to see included in works like this.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I suggest that you don't change anything, unless of course you decide at some point later to continue the project, or do a spin off piece about Henri.

This was another gem in your portfolio, and I'm very glad to have found it. It's different from your other work, but you write such a wide variety of things that I suppose that could be said about many of your pieces.

I liked that you didn't waste a lot of time in letting Bobby figure out that Ken was a vampire. It was fairly obvious, and with a piece this short having too much set up could have been a fatal flaw.

Additionally I like the idea of a super sweet, awkward, vampire character. Bobby is the exact opposite of the problem with vampire fiction, and I think part of me actually wants to read more about him. I was surprised when his heart was broken at the end, not that a spur of the moment vampire romance didn't work out, but that I felt so bad for him. That's some very good writing there.

You also didn't take the concept too seriously, which is nice. I liked the levity you brought to the piece.

I think the line “Do me now, big boy. I wanna live forever!" should replace "Hang tight, spider monkey" in the vampire genre dialogue hall of fame (and I didn't have to sit through an hour of terrible acting to get to it, which makes it all the more enjoyable)

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I do not have any suggestions for you on this one.

This was very emotional for such a short piece of historical fiction, and as far as I can tell (though I'll admit I am no expert) it seems plausible enough to me.

More importantly, it portrays a historical figure not as a legend, but as a man. He had things to overcome such as his pride, and though ultimately he kept his word in your story, it was not without some faltering and stumbling along the way. It makes him seem all the more human, which is exactly what he was.

There are a lot of people who fail to acknowledge faults of people who have gone down in history as "great men" but this was a realistic and balanced representation.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

My only suggestion would be, again, to annotate. I would love to know more about what inspired this piece and source material where I could learn more about what kernels of truth are lingering in this story.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that this has been helpful. I liked this story more than I expected to, since I typically only read historical fiction set in the 1930's-1940's. It was surprisingly good, and I thank you for sharing it.

This seems like quite the contest entry, and there is just so much going on here considering that it's only 2000 words long. It is without a doubt one of the most interesting Christmas stories I've ever read, and in a weird way one of the best terminator crossovers I've ever read. (That's a sentence I didn't ever think I'd say.)

In all seriousness though, you did a good job with the satirical nature of the story and made some good allusions to the source material. Despite being a strange combination of worlds, you managed to find a unique tone that did justice to Christmas stories and Skynet.

I particularly liked the final line, perhaps a bit obvious but the reference suits the tone well.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The only suggestion I have for this one is that you consider annotating it further. A wild piece like this could maybe use a bit more context about the prompt, and it's always nice to see characters credited in crossovers.

This was an interesting holiday tale with some very on-the-nose commentary. Thank you for sharing it.

Once again, you have made some wonderful references. Who among us hasn't been a little more inclined to look for hidden treasure or follow strange maps after playing a Tomb Raider game?

I particularly liked the ending of this one. Like most of your stories it took a dark and unexpected turn that was as entertaining as it was disturbing. I liked that the character used pre-conceived notions to his advantage in his situation with Samantha, just as you used them to your advantage to surprise the reader. Very nice.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The one thing that I would have liked to have seen would have been more literary references. We know what crime show Samantha likes and what video game she preferred playing in college, but not a lot about her reading preferences, which is something I always like to know from characters who are English majors.

Other than that, I thought it was very good.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

Reference nitpicking aside, I really enjoyed the story. Your writing keeps me on my toes and I'm glad that I get to read so much of it for this event.

This was so interesting. I could sort of see the general direction that the story was heading in, but it took some interesting turns that I didn't see coming. Thank goodness that the protagonist was so brave, right? Otherwise it might have had a really unfortunate ending.

I also like the way that you're able to work random bits of trivia so seamlessly into your work. I knew that Arthur Conan Doyle believed in fairies and I knew that League of Legends championship players could make millions of dollars, but I didn't know that I'd ever be reading a story that included both of those facts. It shows that you have a lot of knowledge on strange topics and that you're able to turn that knowledge into interesting and diverse characters.

Now,be honest; Did you ever try to get good enough to play professional League of Legends? *Laugh*

There were a lot of things to like about this piece; unique dialogue, good character chemistry, interesting dynamics, realistic situations, etc. but what I'd really like to address is my favorite aspect of the piece.

I loved the representation.

There just aren't enough stories about the LGBTQ community. So many of the romance short stories revolving around gay characters are solely about the character being gay and the struggles that they have to go through. This story was just like a normal romance story, except for it happened to be about two women - and I loved that.

I'm usually not into romance genre stories, but I really liked this one and I'm glad to see there are talented writers who are writing about adorable lesbian couples.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I would suggest that you write more stuff like this *BigSmile*

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

This was a good romance piece. It wasn't over the top, the chemistry good, I could feel Jess's emotions rise and fall throughout the story, and again, I thought it was great lesbian representation. Great job!

This was another great dystopia piece, and it was a concept that offers a lot of interesting things to think about. Like the other dystopia story I read by you, this is easy to fall into, it's engaging, it makes enough sense as to offer a creeping feeling of possibility, and it makes you think. It's different enough from the other piece however to show that you have a good range as a writer, even when working within the same specific sub-genre.

I also like how you were able to capture a feeling of history for the environment being described without dumping a lot of history lessons into the story or bogging down the plot with exposition. You spread hints evenly throughout the story, which works great in this short format.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I think this piece is great as is, though I must admit I would be interested to see a longer dystopian story from you, based off of how good the short ones are.

I liked how much of the exposition you were able to show through dialogue in this piece. That's something that usually feels forced, but all of the conversations in this piece seem very natural and so you pulled it off quite nicely. It spells out what's happening, it introduces good twists, and it kept the story moving along at a great pace from beginning to end.

And again, I liked your subject matter. It was dark, it was surprising, and you were able to entertain while covering darker concepts that a lot of writers would be hesitant to approach. It's a piece that makes the audience think, and sends chills.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The only thing that I would suggest is that you try to work just a bit more urgency into the words of the doctor who calls in. Although he's able to provide vital plot information very quickly, he seems a bit too formal and collected considering the urgency of the situation.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

This was quite the dilemma that Jim McCall is facing there in this story, and you were able to work quite a lot into such a short piece of fiction. There was drama, there was character development, moral implications, social commentary, villains, good-guys, imperfect protagonists, and even a pretty unexpected plot twist. Just in terms of quantity, I'm quite impressed.

I also have to admit that I'm pretty impressed with the decision that McCall makes at the end, an unthinkable act indeed. I think it's interesting to reflect that (assuming he survives this) he will spend the rest of his life haunted by his decision to do what objectively was the right thing.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The only suggestion I have would be to consider lengthening this piece. Although you were able to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time, I feel like more characterization and a slower build up would have, in this instance, allowed you to enhance the story and the dilemma that your main character faces at the end.

Then again, I always do seem to prefer longer fiction.

This was interesting. It was definitely different from the others I've read thus far, both in tone and content. It's a little sad from a historical standpoint, but the great characterization of Samoset does give a more optimistic insight into the nature of humanity.

There was one line in particular that I really liked;

Obnoxious foreigners or not, the English were people.

It's a simple enough line, but it carries with it a concept that seems hard for so many to grasp when waging war with another party. We're all just people. This is the kind of line that really makes a piece feel powerful.

I also really enjoyed that he starts referring to the girl as "Sunset." A small detail, but one that I really enjoyed.

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

I have to admit, the premise didn't have me sold on this one at first - not being a huge fan of school stories or dating bets.

However, what really sold me on this was the references. The comic-con one seemed a bit obvious, but I loved the character commentary for the Hunger Games (especially the choices of characters you used to make comparisons to) and it's hard for me not to identify with anyone who feels passionately about Scott Pilgrim.

There was a lot of geeky fun in this, and that's something I really appreciated.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The overall concept of this story wasn't my favorite, but that comes down mostly to my own preferences.

The only concrete suggestion that I have for you is that you try to cut back on how often you say "Daniels" when he's first introduced, I felt like his name was in there an abundance of times.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

This was a solid piece, and there were plenty of things to enjoy even if it wasn't my favorite. It was still a lot of fun, and it sounds like you have some great geekdom tastes.

All the best,

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

This was such a cute story!

Although I must admit that I didn't like it as much as the darker pieces I've read by you, it was entertaining and I had a lot of fun with. The animal lover in me just can't resist tales of heroic animals, I suppose, especially not ones that are as cute as the hamster up in the cover image.

It's also nice that it wasn't entirely devoid of darker material, the commentary about animal experimentation and the government created plague was more than enough to give this story a bit of an edge.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I don't really have any suggestions for this one. The pacing was faster than some of your other work, and perhaps a little faster than I typically prefer, but for a piece with a lighter tone like this I don't think that's too much of an issue.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

To wrap this up this was another enjoyable piece that I'm glad to have read, and Harry is a hamster that I'm very glad to have met. I'm looking forward to reviewing your next story very much.

Sincerely,

Cat

I liked the slow build up and the subtle foreshadowing. Although there were a few lines that tipped me off to Matthew's true intentions, they were balanced out by more innocent suggestions that kept me guessing right up until the sedative.

There was also a great amount of characterization for Matthew, considering how short the story is. The several references to Egyptian culture show his devotion to his area of study but don't feel forced, and don't overshadow his primal desires that serve as his motivation. He comes across as a well-rounded character which makes the read even more fascinating.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The only complaint that I had about this story would be that the ending felt a bit rushed. Perhaps it's just me being cynical, but the way that things worked out tested my suspension of disbelief as everything turns south for a monster very quickly and with some convenient timing. I understand that this was probably just to avoid drawing the ending out, however.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

Aside from some misgivings about the end, I did enjoy the story. It was dark, the characters were believable, and I'm glad to have found it.

Sincerely,

Cat

There wasn't really anything about this story that I didn't like.

A chilling concept, a dystopia loosely inspired by scientific inevitability, and an end that puts the rest of what we've read into a somewhat disturbing perspective as the wholesome family picture is irreparably shaken. This was a fantastic story that I'm glad to have read.

The way that you've set up such a great focus on the characters works well, not just to make the ending more surprising but to earn the reader's investment in the situation without dumping too much information about the outside world on them. What we learn of your setting is seen naturally and the audience must put the pieces together for themselves - a very effective method of writing such short, dystopian fiction.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I would highly suggest that you don't change a single thing.

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

You start right at a very exciting point by letting your audience immediately aware of the danger involved in this situation. You didn't waste any time getting the exciting stuff.

More than anything, I liked the end. I guess I just read too much fiction online, but there was this part of me that, despite all logic, expected he'd still make it somehow and everything would work out. The fact that it didn't was, in a sad way, more enjoyable as it added a layer of eye-opening realism (not to mention it really validated the sense of tension that the reader felt building throughout the story.)

The piece tied together and makes for an excellent piece of short fiction that I'm glad to have read.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I don't have any suggestions for you, I really don't think this piece needs any. *Smile*

Hello şђάđe ,

This review is written on behalf of House Stark for "Game of Thrones.

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

This was an interesting begin to a fantasy epic, and killing off two of the four adventurers right in the prologue is a bold move, I bet there are many exciting things ahead. You were also very vivid in your scenery descriptions, which I think is great for something of this genre.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

My main suggestion would be that you focus on character development more. The prologue is very, very short and while you gave a good sense of what the characters look like, I feel like I didn't really know who any of them are, and it made me feel detached from what was happening.

I think focusing more on their personalities would help readers become more invested, and evoke more of an emotional response when your characters die. It would also make that all the more shocking, and there would be more anticipation for the next chapter.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that this review has been helpful to you, and I wish you all the best in writing your story. Fantasy is one of the most ambitious genres to write in and it's hard to find a good balance, but with action like this I believe you can find it.

All the best,

Cat

Hello Toney ,

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

You seem to have had a very interesting, very colorful life. I was impressed with the level of detail you were able to include, and the vividness in which are able to remember all the aspects of your childhood.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

I would suggest including why you're writing this in the introduction, rather than just in the conclusion so that people become invested early on in the piece.

Additionally, I would suggest you go through and do some basic editing. The story of your life is interesting, and the best way to share it with the most people is to polish the presentation as much as possible. I noticed some typos and things that I'm sure would be easy fixes. For example, your conclusion:

I hope you have enjoyed my life story od my childhod. I hope I didn't affened anyone. If I did I am truely sorry, it was not my intension. I was tought to always tell the truth so I am!!!

Editing the section, it would look a bit more like this:

I hope you have enjoyed the story of my childhood. I hope I didn't offend anyone. If I did I am truly sorry, it was not my intention. I was taught to always tell the truth, so I am.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that the review has been helpful, and I wish you all the best of luck with your writing.

Hello Tanisha mahajan ,

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

I like the title, it really draws people in.

I also like that you were able to convey such deep thoughts and emotions so concisely. A lot of poems that are written with this tone seem to ramble on for awhile, but you were very to the point and it's something that I think works really well for this piece.

There was one line in the middle that really stood out to me:

Time to prove existence
You can step back of fear of failure

Something about it just really struck a chord with me.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

My only suggestion would be that you try to edit the piece a little bit, and clean it up so that it looks a bit more polished. For example changing "ur" to "your" and "heart emotions" to "heart's emotions."

There was also a line that I'm not sure I understood:

Need is only to bhe + ve and carm

Other than that, I thought it was great.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that this has been helpful, and I'm glad that I stumbled across your poem for my event. I wish you all the best with this and any future writing.

Sincerely,

Hello Lulu ,

This review is written on behalf of House Stark for "Game of Thrones.

*Wolf*THE NORTH REMEMBERS: WHAT I LIKED:*Wolf*

I liked that you took the time just to share some random thoughts - and that they were all dated. It's like seeing little excerpts from someone's journal - bits of fascinating, out-of-context insight into the mind of the writer.

The thoughts were all also phrased very poetically, which I can appreciate as a writer. In fact, this item doesn't look too different from my own brainstorming journal, an it was interesting to see someone elses notes like this.

Thank you for sharing.

*Wolf* DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS:SUGGESTIONS: *Wolf*

The one thing that I would suggest is a little bit more annotation (perhaps even in a different color) that explains why you chose these thoughts specifically, or what you wrote them down for initially - just a tiny bit of context.

Another thing that would be really cool further down the road would be to do a book item, with an introduction about what inspires you to write down these musings, and then each entry could be a new, random thought.

Just something to consider.

*Wolf*WINTER IS COMING: A CONCLUSION:*Wolf*

I hope that you liked the review, as I liked your piece. Keep thinking strange things and keep writing!

Sincerely,

Cat
