Review of An Evening Out

Very nicely written piece. Would you like to consider a twist in the tale:....Taking Megan's flushed face and slightly matted hair as an answer, he called the waitress over for the check. Not wanting to face a person that more than likely saw, if not heard, what had just happened, John dropped a huge tip and got up to leave. What the lovely waitress said next stopped the couple. "Can I have my tips in the same manner as the lady...."

Most of us seem to go through a period of "disjointedness" between our childhood and adult state. You have captured this very well in your story. It is very difficult to pick up the threads of what ever was left unpursued in the early teens. But a sense of regret develops and persists as we get older. It is a very important but a very private feeling. We are often afraid it may trivialised by those with whom we may choose to share it. My compliments to you for a well writtten piece.
