What an amazing story! Thoughts of his father and hunting, trying to live up to his father's expectations of being a man, while still a boy, have haunted him through his Marine Corps service and afterwards, when he became a paid sniper. The story is very emotional, and well written. I saw no errors or any way I would offer any changes to it. My apologies for not reviewing sooner, but I do review every entry before I chose the winners. I will be posting the winners tonight - until then, write on and good luck in the contest!

A well-written poem! No errors noted, the only thing was that you did not use the "prompt word" = Everlasting - but it's okay. Monty will be helping me judge and I am sure that he will like the poem as well. You could add one line to the bottom of the poem - something like "Peace of Mind, everlasting!" Just a suggestion

Thank you for a very heartwarming story - your entry in the Honoring Our Veterans Contest for July is well written. No errors noted, no way I would offer any changes to it. The emotions of the little girl in the story are quite sincere, as well as the mother's having to tell her that the Daddy is missing. To have the father come home, safe, is the way we wish all veterans could return to their families! It was a pleasure to read and I hope you will enter future contests again. I really like the poem honoring your brothers and father - I can remember when our brothers and fathers looked forward to serving - proud to be a member of the ranks, and still proud years later as veterans! WHAT CAN I SAY EXCEPT THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING WRITE! The lyrics are excellent, flow smoothly, it's a song that any country-artist would be delighted to sing! Emotional, there is no doubt that this song would make the charts! You've got a talent that surpasses any I have seen -

Thank you for your entry in the Honoring Our Veterans Contest. The Trench is a good title, and you have certainly given a glimpse of that WW 1 was about. There are not many, if any, of our WW I soldiers left - and how many died in the trenches -
An emotionally charged look at what it was like. No errors noted, Wars never get better, only worse. It would be a blessing if there was no more war~

Thank you for your entry in the Honoring Our Veterans Contest and for the Gift Points! - this is a great story, one theat needs to be told - the effects of the chemical weapons, the duties you and the others performed, saving lives that might otherwise have ended with sons and daughters not making it home. I am familiar with the war in Iraq as the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) found me joining others to adopt some soldiers -sending care packages, letters and cards. There was a Medic group there, My favorite part was a "Christmas Wish List" the troops sent which included Christmas Trees, Santa suits, Elf hats and care packages- I have to find the photo of the group and send it to you! They even placed a "sleigh" over a jeep to deliver our boxes to the troops (including the Medics!)

What an amazing write! So well written, it held my interest throughout! I don't often read stories but I am so glad I found this one! You have captured me as a FAN and I hope to see more of your writing soon! The story of a single mother with a son like Max - reminds me that I have a son Mike, who pales in comparison as far as his exploits go but who would certainly borrow God's telephone to call me should the time come for him to make his way to Heaven! I'm marking this one a favorite! You've taught me a lesson in writing here!

Thank you for this entry and for the Gift Points you donated to the Our Veterans Group/ As I read this interview, it leaves me wondering how anyone could be separated from his family for so long a time. I realize that there are many servicemen and women who give up their own home lives in order to work with the people in many foreign lands, who are in harm's way - I can understand that turning to God may be the only way they can survive the work they are sent to do. I always hope for a happy ending, but this is the "real world" where all endings are not what we would like them to be.
A well written, interesting write. I hope there is more to the interview and that you will share it with us.
