Am excellent write! Thank you for the entry in the Honoring Our Veterans Contest - you have used the prompt "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" well - It is a keeper and I'll be marking it a favorite!
I will be reviewing all entries again when the contest closes before awarding the winners but I am sure you'll be in the winners circle once again!

I love it - well written! One small note - On the fifth verse, "The warmth for my body.." - should that be "The warmth FROM my body"?? Just a thought, I could be wrong... It's a keeper poem and I will add it to my favorites!

I love it - but you need to do a spell check on some of the words - I do the same thing when I think faster than I write With a little spit and polish, this could turn out to be an excellent poem - You do the spell check (example: potatoe is spelled potato and last word "while: needs to be "awhile".
You should enter it in the next Senior Center Contest on my port A good chance to get more reviews!

An interesting journal/blog you have here. I've read some that make me sit here nodding my head in agreement, some that made me smile, and some that make me sad. That is so heartfelt, and true - we can only reach out to the family and offer our thoughts and caring.

Thank you for writing this - It takes the reader to the midst of Hell, and perhaps some will understand the pain that lingers long afterward. I've worked with veterans over the past five - six years, interviewing, now with care packages to our troops, and some have become friends and put new meaning into the word "veteran" for me. I have come to respect each veteran who can open up, after many years, and who came back to make a difference in this world. Many don't want to talk about it still, some Korean War veterans still cry after 50+ years, most try to make some sense out of it.
You are blessed with a good wife who does understand,
that is the best part. To now have a family, to still stand tall - makes all the difference.

A bit low on the grammar side, but the basic poem is good - I liked it. In the first verse, "came" should be "come" - as in "you had come into this world"; third verse, third line - you could change it to "No matter that the world was unfair"; fourth verse, second line - should be "anything" instead of "everything" - and so on down the entire verse -
Now it may seem like I'm picking on you but I am trying to help, and I think my suggestions (and they are only suggestions) would make it sound better.
The inspiration for this poem is lovely, and I can picture that last leaf hanging on, until it finally lets go and flutters away.

An outstanding write - and not all of us have forgotten. The horrors of the time endured by many, and how any survived the camps is a miracle.
It is an interesting aspect to write it as a report,
and perhaps could have included a clue to the clueless who don't remember would have added to it.
