I think its antedotes like this one that keep us human beings and dont allow the arrogance to preocupy our thoughts. This to this reader shows that we are all human and capable of making errors in judgement or in actions.
The pink color takes away from this poem in my opinion.
I hope to read more from you in the future my dear fellow author
This very unusual and yet very intriguing poem is well told and written. I can see it took alot of deep thought and concentration to arrive at this kind of poem. It is unique in the subject detailed... In fact its a one of a kind in this readers mind!!!
I am happy to have read this as I tend to enjoy reading and writing poems myself. I always like a glimpse inside another fellow poet's heart to see the emotions that explode on the screen before my very eyes!!!
I thank you for posting this and look forward to my next journey into your wonderous port my friend
The emotion filled poem you have allowed us to view is quite a well written and articulate poem!!!
I just wish it was on a happier subject... just the same it is with such few words you influence us to relate to your pain and sorrow and give us the ability to identify with these emotions.
In my stumbling around here at our site I found this jewel in the public reviews and I am glad to have read this.
It shows the human condition and depicts how and where our weaknesses lie...
I am glad that I visited your port and I would like to welcome you to writing.com and I hope if you need help feel free to drop me a line or any of the preffered authors... Most of them know their way around pretty well.
I am sure that if we have lived in the adult world for a while that we know this person or someone like her. Your depictions take me to places I have visited and beyond and its an eye opeining experience to run across someone like you have aptly described here.
Nicely written
Your funny tongue in cheek poem says alot about many of us and that is quite refreshing. Sometimes the truth is best told in jest... I believe Ben Franklin said something to that effect... Not really sure.
Welcome to WDC and I hope you meet many kind and caring people here as I have. Its nice to meet the newbies, they always have a new or different curve or slant on something that has previously been written about or was just waiting for them to show up to write about it
I have found this is not only a place for us to post our words but the images that I find in this port are right on!!!!
I will send more now that I have found it
I plan to have a book of poems (my second) coming out soon and in this one perhaps you would take some time out and give me some ideas about what graphics would be suitable for some of those I now have in my port
Welcome to WDC!!!!!
I hope that you meet many here that are kind and helpful
This probes ones heart no matter the war the places or the culture. This has a universal meaning and it definately has a place here at this great site!!!!
I am glad you found us here at writing.com and hope to read more and more of your trully fine works
John
Im amazed and constantly impressed by your writing skills. You wrote this in record time!!! This and many more poems of yours really hits home and finds places inside me that dont get visited on a regular basis.
Its so refreshing to find an author that writes with so much variety!!!
The stories that have been buried come alive when a poet puts a pen in his/her hand. I got an email and I might look up the poem... its called the dash. It is about the dash between the date of birth and the date of death... its a wonderful and thought filled as this is as well poem. Ill see if I can find it on google
Many poems have been written about our soldiers. Not many reflect those who suffer at home and how they cope with the loss of everyday events that they cannot participate in.
This is an eye opening poem that others that read it will agree with I am sure.
I too have the blood of an irishman in me. I am 3/4 cherokee and the rest irish... the only thing that shows my irish ancestry is the emerald green eyes
Your poem reminds me of being a new father!!!! I didnt practice I just took the role and it took to me I guess... those are some special times in our lives and I cant wait to read more of your poems
Its a good thing to use the "nappies" (im thinking...cloth diapers here)
If you dont mind let me know your thoughts on this:
Its funny the slight changes we start noticing about our bodies when we get a few miles on us...
My hair has always been darker than a crows wing, but now I too have slight grey starting at my part... probably about 10 or so... I noticed not long ago that now my first thing to do is find my "eyes" before I get out of bed... At least we lived old enough to be able to do these things
This is writing!!!! I commend you on the thoughts that you present in the talented way that you do!!!
I can tell the war or wars have placed an invisible wreath on you at some point or time...
I was getting ready to go fight in Vietnam but they ended the war just a year or so too soon for me to go.
My land lady is a vet. I support her while her husband bad mouths her. She is special person that was damaged by the gulf war. She participated in Vietnam also. She has my utmost respect. He will never lay a hand on her in anger if I see it coming to that. I tell her from time to time how I respect the choices she made to defend us on foreign shores... You really hit home with this one!
To be totally honest I think this is even better than "newspaper"!!!!!!!
I dont know how but you have topped that last one
Keep on writing and Ill keep on reading my friend!!!~!!
Your friend
John
