I cant begin to tell you how deeply this simple yet voluminous poem made me feel... I will try to though.
It opened hidden doors and passageways that let this in deeply to find my heart. It shows the greatest gift one can give another... It shows the love of a daughter for her father.
Welcome to WDC my new friend and I call you a friend because for you to share something as sacred as this you must be sharing with a friend. I hope you enjoy those here that you meet. There are some very wonderful, helpful, and caring folks here that will go way out of their way to help you in more ways than to correct a typo or give you a lesson on grammar... Ask me because I know
I am glad I stumbled into your port!!! It seems you have quite a selection to choose from for not being here that long. That is how it was for me too! I had all these things inside and then when I found writing they all gushed out almost faster than I could write them.
The sentiments in your poem illustrates your insight and imagination that often and in this case creates a wonderful atmosphere and topic!!!
Keep on writing my new friend and I'll keep on reading!!!
Your new friend
John
I like these and I ventured in here to see what you had put inside this folder!!! I hadnt rated the folder so I figured this was a good time to do that
I always enjoy stumbling around in your port and this trip wasnt the exception to the rule. Im glad that I came here and I will be back!!!
You refer to this as a poem in the description... I find it to be more of a very touching and heartfelt short story...
You told this story well I must admit and I can feel your words as I read them. They impart their effect on me as they accumilate and resonate within my mind.
I hope that you continue to write and I encourage it!!!
Your message within this poem is very touching and it shows talent in this readers opinion! Many people I know like the rain but no one has expressed this particular reason for it. You reached out and took some thing so simple and gave it form and style and that shows that inside you a writer prevails :-0
I would like to welcome you to WDC and hope you meet some of the wonderful people here that has helped me learn how to present my words so that they are easily understood and can identify with
I too have written many items upon this very topic and I cant stress how highly I totally agree with your assessment of our leaders.
I admire and commend you on the forthright approach that you use in depicting the despicable way that John Q Public can be treated at this time.
John Q Public is only a fictional charicter I know. But what it really represents is YOU AND ME and all of us that live on this planet.
Its funny in a sad way that if you do not believe the way that the president does then you must be a part of some kind of militant organization or God forbid a Patriot.
If I recollect right it was patriots that fought to remove the British rule over this country, so that we could be "free". I fear that today freedom is bought and sold like any other comodity in the world. Justice is only a word in a Webster's dictionary also. It no longer is a real entity but a concept studied in the great ivory towers that turns out the lawyers of today.
When asked what they should do after signing the Declaration of Independence Ben Franklin said "Must we hang together, lest we hang seperately"
When asked about how this new form of Government would work after Ben signed the Constitution he replied "This government will work as long as those in power choose not to line their purses with the common man's money"
John
I didnt find anything that could be improved upon. Your testamony here says so much with very words... Your portrait in my minds eye is complete
I want to welcome you to WDC I hope you come to like this place like I do.. When ever I log onto my pc this is my home page!!! I have met many here that have acted in a selfless manner, offering help and positive things to get me over many of the humps of life... I hope that you meet some of those kind caring individuals that make this site in my opinon one, if not the best site on the internet!
Keep on writing and Ill keep writing my new friend!!!
Your friend
John
I hope this helps you some
Have a happy New year here with us my friend
I have read most of the poems in this file and they are truly one of a kind. Each one sheds its light upon a topic or person that has somehow touched your life and given you the inspiration to put feelings to paper.
Although this is typical of the common person to have an issue of this type it is still humorous. I find that the subject matter that gets this ball rolling is something that is distasteful to me. It is such a shame that we "Free" Americans still must cater to those who were brought here for purposes less than honorable. This limits real freedom in this readers mind.
I have noticed that in this politically correct world of today if you take a poll of say 100 people that if say 3 disagree we must cater to the three for fear of not wanting to upset the "minority".
Didnt mean to get off on a tangent but this is where this took me.
I had seen others opinions of this poem and after reading their reviews I just had to read this. I must concur with the mass appeal that they seem to all agree on. This is a wonderful poem presenting a grand view of the poem world.
I am glad to have read this and would suggest for others that enjoy poems to read this too!!!!
I found the description that your husband gave you hilarious... What a quick thinker he is
That is quite a paradox... You like the ocean but hate the sand and the smell... I love almost everything about the beach. From the seagulls and pelicans to the marine animals that you sometimes come across.
I always like to stumble around here in others ports and I apologize if I caught you off guard
Your message isnt one of the most promising type, but it says what you wanted it to say. I am sure there are many out there that readily identify with this and know the deptths that this took you to.
I was just stumbling around and was interested in checking out your port as you sent me an email and to my knowledge, I hadnt interacted with you before.
I am glad to meet you and I hope to visit your port again soon
I have several relatives that live in Slidell and Pearl river. Most of them evacuated to my house here in east Texas during the time of Katrina.
I have been to New Orleans many times and it was a place of fantasy to a point. It was the old pirates place of enjoying their stolen goods and trophys. It was many things and I feel that it still is but soon to be modernized. I get the feeling that Bush didnt do much to help during their time of desperate need but watched on tv like the rest of the boob tube population. He must have at one point said "Glad we arent there now" lol.
I have had many of my cousins tell me of bodies floating in the waters as they reseded. Others tell me of automatic gunfights that took many of the hoodlums live only to put more bodies floating in the waters there, and a few Nation Guard men died there as well but they were pulled out for a proper burial.
I had some one tell me this a while back and its a quote from a movie. "Life aint easy Wyatt, its just life. Live it.
I can identify with this at many times these days. I know that we live in the greatest country on this planet, but sometimes it really makes you wonder dont it. Personally I hope to retire to Belize
I thank you for sharing your opinion with us here Judy!
I must apologies for the tardyness of my review... I have been pc'less for a while and now just got back online... Soon I must depart once again to work and Ill be checking from a library somewhere... I miss our visits to each others ports
Moving right along...
I feel the thoughts you have posted to read
I have been blessed to have enjoyed his deed
I like the reverence that you choose to reveal
I waller in the presents you can feel
I thank you for this wonderful poem my dear friend
John
