This resonates. As someone who also suffers from deep depression, I have written of similar feelings often, I always go to ice, glacial, in terms of temperature and time, as time modulates and warps in my episodes. I believe you are striking at the same nail here.

the uselessness, the abandonment of hope, I feel it in every line of your work here. Brilliantly written and painfully evocative.

I found this piece to be very profound, having been in this dreadful mindset myself. The concept of space that you describe is not something I had thought about before. The physical shape we take up in the world, and the vacuum which we leave filled with air. It made me think of my dad and others that I have lost, and the spaces they once filled.
You are such an insightful, talented writer, being able to describe a concept as deep and complex as this in a profound and philosophical way, when also carrying such an important message to us all, to keep occupying our spaces. Thank you for sharing your gift.
