Written like a true homeless man. It reminds me of a poet and vagabond soul I knew in my youth. Your poem provides insight for all who are lucky enough to have a place they can call "Home." Keep on sharing your wisdom. Best, George Dixon.

What a lovely sentiment! As a senior who recently celebrated the 55th wedding anniversary with the love of his life, I found great truth in the poem. Thanks for sharing. George Dixon.

Amen, and well said. He is my redeemer and the light of my world. The song always makes me tear up. As for the soldiers, they can rest assured they are forgiven by the gentlest soul whoever walked among us. "How lucky are we that He came to Earth to show the way." Yours in Christ, George.

I am guessing that you are English. You have the English native's command of the world's most expressive and poetic language. The most wonderful part of your story is that James, shivering in the cold, will NOT be forgotten. By committing your experience to paper, you have made it a more enduring part of the human experience, vicariously shared and remembered by others. I love the English and their way of expressing their thoughts. Aside from fellow Americans, they are the most frequent visitors to my Physics website, www.grdmax.net. Thanks for sharing.

This is a very tough article to read. I can't express how much I sympathize with the hurt your father's abandonment of his family must have caused you and your sister. And you had the additional burden of cerebral palsy to cope with all your life. I don't know why life is so unfair to some of us, particularly to children. But I'm glad you discovered the joy of writing at the tender age of six. You definitely have the gift of touching your readers. Keep writing. Practice will make your product even better than it is. Good luck. George.

A lovely children's story! You should write more of them. You have a real talent for writing what children love to hear and read. Write on! Best regards, George Dixon.
A few minor grammatical errors ... possibly typos.

Yes, humanity is a mixed beg, and one can't find a better place to observe it than in a busy shopping mall. I was saddened to read about your stroke. That's one bullet I've managed to dodge thus far. We are all grateful for what you're able to share here on WDC. Yours, George.

I did! Today I stopped buying lottery tickets and pledged $19 a month to Mercy Ships.org. It feels GOOD! Your essay is excellently written. It fleshes out some of the greatest philosophy ever spoken, by The Man From Galilee. By the way, the little story about the starfish has always been one of my favorites. When I first heard it, it was the old man who was scaling them out over the breakers. Good job!

A happy episode in the life of a Dancing Queen. I miss ABBA's music keenly. They were such super stars. I don't think they ever sang a song I didn't love listening to. What a shame they broke up. Thanks for sharing. George.

I agree completely with the initial campfire insight, that
being kind is more important than being right. I recalled
an incident in the life of the late, great physics
teacher, Richard Feynman, where he received a letter from
the mother of one of his graduate students. She had
evidently asked her son what he did at Cal Tech, and
why it was so important. Her son told her that she
couldn't possibly understand. And she was writing to Dr.
Feynman to see if he could explain to her, in simple
terms, what Physics was all about. Feynman wrote back to
her with words to the effect, "Tell your son that Physics
is not the most important thing in life; Love is." Wise
words from a very wise man.

Excellent! Its Irish lilt was unmistakable. I think everyone with soul believes in leprechauns. I enjoyed this little poem big time, all but singing the words on a second reading. Thanks for entertaining. George Dixon.

Review of SNOW
Review by George
Rated: E | (4.0)
This story could use some cleaning up in its beginning. I suggest the author carefully reread such material before publishing it. Following is paragraph 2, with my edits in parentheses.
Snow wasn't fair. Without warning, it struck out from clear blue skies. Snow's sudden squall engulfing (engulfed) the small aircraft and it (its) puny human content in a sea of white. Foolishly, he expected Snow to disappear as quickly as it had roared to life. Flying into the storm was obviously a (an) imprudent choice, but one he would live with, or die with. That would be Snow's choice.
Aside from such edits, "Snow" is a good read. Write on!

Wow. Too incredible not to be true. The billions who hung on his words should read your account of a chance meeting that evidently changed history. Thanks for sharing. I love short stories. George.

Well written. But I expect there are more people who feel alone and abhor it, craving fellowship and even love. An interesting piece.

Hi, Carol. After an absence working on my physics website, I'm back on WDC. It's clear that you've become one of its most distinguished members. I see that you're still a lifelong lover of Ireland, as am I. I look forward to revisiting your portfolio many times. Best to you and your significant other, George Dixon (author of "Fiddler Crabbe.") My WDC name is g.r.dixon.

Good meter and imagery. Your talent for metaphor and words makes me believe that all line pairs could be rhyming.

A very lovely and whimsical poem. I truly enjoyed it. Every dawn is a new opportunity. No spelling errors identified. But it wasn't clear to me whether or not the third from last line should have read "...has taken ME on a new course." In any case, keep on flying! Best, George.
