This sounds, oh so familiar Charlie, like me in my younger days. I love your descriptiveness and your comparison of the water smashing against your chest. I think it is wonderful to hear all the things that you are not embarrased about. I think it would also be great for you to own up to those qualities that make you a decent young man, perhaps by using the words "I am proud of", in some instances. It feels a little like you are still thinking that others (in this case I would guess your peers) are still giving you the impression that you you should be embarrassed and you are defending yourself. It sounds like you are a very wise young man that has made some good choices. Keep up the good grades. You have plenty of time to get involved in a physical relationship with someone and waiting until college is not such a bad idea, if thats what you want. I am an avid reader as well, that is another thing for you to be proud of and I hope you are! Keep Writing!!!
