Review of OUT AT SIXTY

Hello, Ann!

Your writing is always a boost. I am not a bit predjudiced about gay people. I know many and they are just as good as I am --- they are better. My lesbian friends are all committed couples and either have their own
business, or they operate a farm togeather. None of my lesbian friends have ever hit on me. I loved having such loyal friends who respect my opinions and would back me up, even if it means a sacrifice.

I've had a number of gay male friends and it was fun to go shopping and listen to Butch tell me about the men he liked and why. But he only wanted nameless, faceless sex. I still love him. He was a good friend when it counted.

I am glad you are a lesbian. It gives you an edge on straight people. Even though you are gay, you should be able to empathize with straight females, and probably straight males. I don't know. It is just my opinion from experience. I have watched as minds become more flexible toward Gays and Lesbians. Though so many hate them, but the rest of us appreciate gay people and the important role they are to the world.

All of my gay friends and I have lost touch with each other. My cousin, Jerry, is probably my best gay friend right now. He and I are so much alike, and we both love to go to the pool and watch the cute guys. Christine and I talk about guys from high school and how she wished she'd had the treatment and surgery sooner. Mostly we are always coming up with other conversations about books we've read, our favorite author, movies, TV and our therapy.

We are both ADHD/Bipolar and other than her medication for her Aids, we both take the same meds. I love talking to her though some people can't keep up with her racing mind. She is literally a Genius so I guess I must be smart enough to understand, but I have a relatively high IQ, but not near Genius.

Gotta go for now. I am working on my last story for now, about my first kiss. Livestock and reptiles don't count.

Later, My Friend!

Hi,

I just finished reading your story, "Seven Days." I didn't expect the interesting story line about Rae and Emily. It was very supernatural and kept my attention. I thought is was cool, the way you presented Dreamland and its denizens. The characters were interesting. I can tell you put a lot of work into this story and it paid off.

Review of Pinky the Rat

The story of Pinky was very enjoyable and funny. I like the style and descriptions and would like to be able to paint a picture with words like you. The story was especially good to me because we had twenty three pet rats for a few years. Thank God rats don't live long. We have one left and she is growing old and feeble.

I remember what a rat bite feels like, too. Sometimes, my fingers would bleed for days and I would go through a lot of bandaids. Now, my African Grey Parrot savages me every chance he gets. His bite is worse than a rat bite.

I loved reading your story.

Yours,
Lesley

Hello,

I just finished reading about the unusual love story about Majah and the Greek soldier. I am reading a book about different religions and India is said to be extremely rich in spirtual diversity. The Indians have a number of different religions, they are at peace with one anothers' beliefs. The religions all have the same goals and alll reach the same conclusion.

Majah's story is romantic. I wonder if her hero makes his way back.

Yours,
Lesley

Hello, Jimmy,

Chapter six of "Bilfrost Bridge" was excellent. I love the way the Valkyries and Thor took care of those nasty trolls and got ride of Loki. Both little princesses are very bold and clever. You said that your daughers inspired the story. I need to be inspired to write most of the time. I remember something I think is cool and sit down and write.

I am looking forward to Chapter eight.

Yours,
Lesley

Hello, Meenie,

I loved your "Little Bear" story. I know how she feels to lose her marriage and the pain and anger it brings. But I forgave my ex for leaving me for my best friend. Now, we still talk on the phone and send each other birthday and Christmas cards.

Yours,
Lesley

Hello, Daniel,

I just finished reading your first chapters of "Crossing the Lines." I enjoyed meeting Samuel Jones, the media mogul. He seemed like a real person and reminds me of the time I spent as a newspaper reporter for "The Nashville Graphic." It was a rural area bi-weekly paper for Nash County in NC, not Tn.

The way Genie Gallow died was very dramatic. I look forward to reading more of your book.

Sincerely,
Lesley Scott

Chapter five and six captured my imagination and I am glad Silje is okay. She is a fiesty little princess. Both she and Hanne are very brave. I am sure she and the Valkiries ( i can't spell) will save her and Norway from Loki. It is funny that Cliff had a dog named Odin and I had a horse named Thor.

I have to go outside again. The bunnies and Fredio, the guinea pig and the four laying hens need my attention. Timmy, the parrot, is talking up a storm. He still hates me and loves Cliff.
Bye for now.

I really did enjoy chapter Four of the Bifrost Bridge. You paint a picture with words and the magic is believable in this story. I am glad to see that Hanne escaped Loki with her magic shoes. Also, the length of your chapters is pleasing. I have ADHD and find myself overwhelmed by long stories. I am going to ready the next chapter to find out what happens to Silje next.

HI,

I just fnished reading Chapter one and two. I am getting to know the Royal Family and you paint a picture with words. I also loved you illustrations. This book is easy and fun to read. The setting is novel to me, though. I never really studied the Vikings. THanks for writing about them.

I am hooked! This is such a great story. I was taken into a land of wonder and fantasy. It is, as I read before, a marvelous weaving of fantacy with reality. I will read it to my husband. He loves this type of story. I usually read spiritual and self help books.

I just finished your poem and it felt like you wrote it just for me. As I was busy making guessed for our upcoming marriage at work, I was sitting along beside his empty desk. I wondered why he was late. My supervior somberly gave me the news.

For about a year, I would dream he was still alive. I also felt like wherever I went we was with me. Your poem made me think of him being with me. Thanks for putting it into words.

Sorry I didn't read all of your pages. You understand. But I was so pleased to enter my two cents worth. I've been into the Tao Te Ching for many years and it is a path to life and relaxing bliss. Tao Te Ching was written by a wise Chinese man name Lao Tzo. The Tao was supposed to be a guide line for warriers. It is, if the warror's read the book. It has been translated close to those of the Bible and almost as many volumes sold.
READ it! I will help relax and soothe your mind and body.

My computer keeps taking me to Facebook before I finished this message. This is a great idea to make friends, know your friends and have them know you as well. On the survey I just jotted down what few people know. But I know you won't tell. We go for years without being to gether, but talk by phone.
Love you Group!

I just finished reading the story, My heart Still beats for you."I had a choise not to add to the overpopulated world. As they always say, " you become whaf you think."So I tried to change my position, but failed each time. I read a lot of books, TV and gave the matter of the cons ans to the pros. The prose won the prise. Iam happy for both of you and with some good counseling, the family unit will be stronger than usual.

I just finished reading your story, " Appreciating Gifts." I agree with everything you wrote about. I believe, for one, we have choices to do or not to do anything and we should live up to our consequences. I always feel nothing is a waste. I learn from my mistakes, so what may have been wasted was actually useful.
Keep up the Good Work

Review of Art is Power

I just finished reading your essay, "Art is Power." I agree and understand about art and power. One thing I've noticed is that both are manipulative, especially writing. Power also can be used to make something better or destroy something, as well.
I also firmly agree that psychology and psychiatry are both a form of art. Also, art can be used by the shrinks to treat patients to calm down or tell a story.
You are also right. We should not abuse our power. But we do.

Review of Thr Forgotten

Hello, I just read your story about Alzheimer's Disease, "The Forgotten." It was well written and you have a great way to describe the words of your story. I think it is wonderful to visit your grandmother. She probably still has her memories of you deep inside of her soul, not mere memory as we know it to be.
My father is in the early stages of Azheimer's, but he is no trouble. He just can't remember very much about the present or past. He always has to ask the same question almost all day. It drives my mother crazy. But he is happy in front of the television, watching the Golf channel, nothing else.
Good writing!

I do so enjoy all of your writing and wonder how you find time. In this poem, "Mother, Will you be Mine?" is another example. I pictured myself as the daughter, writing this. I am going to remember this poem and give it to her with your byline and blessings. Besides, my mother knows I don't write poetry. "Mother, will you be mine? When you are dead and gone. And no longer with us, Mother, will you still be my mother?" That is great!

To me, I see no glaring mistakes on grammar and spelling.

Your Friend,
Gator Girl

read " 'Gator in the Road or Losing my Head," It is a great alligator tale. I have it in my port because I'm not ready or can I find the right contest. So I am telling my friends.

Your story, " Is crearivity Enough," opened my eyes, but not for the first time. I know how hard it is to accomplish goals when faced with tough opposition. I liked your quote, " Anybody who knows anything about organisations knows how hard it is to get things done, let alone to introduce new ways of doing things, no matter how promising they seem." Isn't that the truth!

Keep up the good work!

Your story about Courtneyd"Green Beans and Manners," made me laugh out loud and I chuckled when I read it to my husband. I was worse than Courtney. Many a time, I was left at the table because I would't eat certain vegetables. Green beans were at the top of the list! I usually through the offending food into the garbage can.

I was a wise ass. but not as funny when Courtney told her mother, " Well, no thank you Mommy. I don't want to eat green beans."

Your poem, "If only I had Known," was sad and a bit disturbing. The thought of such a sweet child should suffer so. You got out by joining the Navy. There was nothing you could have done to change the things that happened in your home town. It is sad that that poor child grew up the hard way and died drunk and alone.
Keep up the good work!

This was a very emotional story to write. I wrote one called "Love Forever Lost." It was about my fiance dying in a fire as I was at work, making wedding plans when no one was around. The funeral was the worst experience, but I'm glad now that I went. Like you, I felt his presense clearly. I always had the feeling he was always with me, sending me his love.
Again, thanks for writing this story for me.

Your story, "The last Goodbye," was very touching to me. You are a brave soul and were a wonderful daughter. I am sure he was so proud of you. Everyone was right. He did live a good long and happy life.
My parents already made their plans with the funeral home. They are both in their 80s and healthy. I have anxiety attacks when I have to live without my mother and father. But, like you, I'll put on a brave face. Thanks for writing this story for me.
