Review of Name sig

Hello, Friend,

You are right, your friend made you a cool sig like none we have here. Or at least, I've never seen a cute ghost before. The eyes together like that are adorable and gives you a surprised expression. The shape, size and color contrasts are excellent. It says to me, "Lost Ghost."

Hello, George,

I just finished reading your delightful story about "The Memory Lane Malt Shop." I found it easy to read and anxious for more. At first, I was wondering how Sid could function so well and even be clever if he had Alzhiemers. As I read on, I understood he was still in the hospital. However, the ending couldn't have been better.

Your Friend,
Lesley

I am going to order your ebook, "The Falcon and the Desert Rose." I really do enjoy your writing and would love to read your book.

I may never write a book, myself. All I write are my true animal adventures, which is quite a collection. I've ridden a buffalo, wrestled alligators and handled poisonous snakes, plus raised, trained, shown and promoted donkeys and mules.
L.

Hello, Dave,

I just finished your poem, entered in the "Holiday Contest," and I am sure I'm reading a winner. Your poem is so funny original and easy for anyone to read. I usually have to read a poem more than once. I have tried to write poems, but no luck. I'm stuck with non-fiction, essays and newsletters. I loved the ending, "Tonight, real food, a hot shower, and a good night's sleep in a bed with clean sheets." Must be nice. I wish I could do that!

Yours,
Lesley

Review of Inside or Outside

Hello, Max,

I did what I could to re write my Elk story. I reads much better, but could be better. I have a lot to learn. Your writing is so full of nice little details and phrases. I liked this essay, "Inside and Outside." I will especially do my best to lead the reader into the dream. I never thought of it that way.

Thanks for all of your help and attention. I will read more of your work as time allows. I have some other stories I dug out of my old word processor to edit. I don't even remember writing them. I write because it helps me concentrate. ADHD makes my mind jump from one racing thought to another. The Bipolar Disorder is a bother, too.

Your Friend and Fan,

Hey!

I finally read one of your gay man stories, "A Man Who's Fundamentally a Woman." As usual, your stories are not just intertaining, but full of blunt facts. I hope everyone can read and understand what it is like not to be the same as everyone else, or what someone wants you to be.

If you'd like, I could fish out my story, "The Right Gender," in my port for you to read. This story made me think of my gay and lesbian friends I shopped with, went to movies, out to eat, ect. It also made me think of my dear Christine. It's been a while since I've talked to her, but she was fine last time. We also have ADHD and Bipolar, so we cheer each other up, bitching about how our bodies are aging.

Love,
Leslely

Hello, Friend,
I just finished reading "The Brainstormers Q and A." I had no idea there were so many other things I could do besides just write, enter a few contests and raffles. I sent my first CNote today and I felt ignorant, but not anymore. Thanks, also, for all of the other useful information, such as, recruiting new members. I've recruited two, but I don't think they mentioned my name.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
These are some really cool cnotes. This is only my first time because I never saw one I liked. It was also a bit difficult for me to decide on how many friends I wanted to send them to at the time. But now that I know we have some here, at Brainstormers. The notes suit me.

Hey! Friend!

I just had to scope out your port. I chose to read, "Birth of A Revelation." I thought it may be something like my own. But, we all seem to have similarities, but such different situations and treatments. That is what makes this neurological disorder all that much harder to conquer. Can it be done?

Your lyrics from Billy Joel were a nice touch. I really liked that.

I felt sad for the author, wanting children so badly yet not being able to have them. Personally, I am not too sure all bipolar people are cut out to be parents. I've met others who had a bipolar parent and they were interesting, but not consistent with child rearing. Usually the kids had the same or worse problems. You know.

I chose my hysterectomy because I didn't want to be responsible for another person other than myself, I am so selfish. I was pregnant twice in my fourties! I decided to terminate, due to the powerful drugs I was abusing, also I didn't the ex-lovers to be in my life. They were more messed up than myself. I also wanted the disorder, which is proven genetic, to end with me. Both parents had bipolar family members, so I am sure that is what happened to me.

At first, I thought it was something I had done wrong and God was punishing me and I felt alone, very alone. I still do feel alone a lot, but I have a husband who is a nurses assistant and he helps me manage my meds. He had to take me to the hospital a couple of times. It was a vacation! I hated leaving.

Sunflower, you are a wonderful writer as well as a person. I wrote "The 40 Year Mystery." I think I sent it to you. Do you remember? I know I have a tough time. But I remember you. You are a Sunflower in Texas! Check my port sometime. I have written some more on bipolar incidents.

Love,
Lesley Scott

Review of We Three
Review by Lesley Scott
In affiliation with The Brainstormers Group

Hi, Dogpack,
I can see how you came up with your handle, I think. Your story was moving to me because I understand how animals can teach us and we can teach them in turn. In my case, in my story "Buster Brown, Canine Cop," I cried almost the whole time remembering how close we were. I suspect you felt your emotion rising, writing, "We Three."

From the moment he was born, Buster was always there. I never trained him, I only spent every moment with my partner. He was allowed to be my official partner when I was an animal control officer. He even had a badge and ID. The cops all loved to give him belly rubs and wrestle with him on the squadroom floor.

So your writing about Bella and Shady is a story that is meaningful and you are right about, "When not knowing can then not asking..." I find that out often!

Your Friend,
Lesley

Review of Spanking
Review by Lesley Scott

I had to read your story, "Spanking," twice. I have been spanked all throughout my childhood and it wasn't what this particular mother liked to do to her two loving children who looked up to her for answers and guidance. Instead, this cruel fetish that she learned from her parents, showed up in the priceless responsibility of child raising. They are supposed to be raised to be polite, helpful, kind and hard working. Then the man takes a wife and the woman marries a decent man.

But with the abuse these children in this story suffered, it is doubtful either child will grow up thinking little of themselves and have the need to control others. Therefore, yet another generation of cruel parents are on the circle of abuse and neglect.

Good story,
Lesley

Hello, Friend,
I have been contacted several times from John Francis, part of the editorial staff of "Author House.com". I have no real red flags and this guy seems truthful. I told him to give me three months to re write and edit my stories. John said they will print me riding my buffalo on the cover. Before anything is is finished, I recieve a book to edit and can get a refund. Does this remind you of your experience?

Love,

Review of Cats or Dogs

Hello, there, Leeboi,

I just took your vote about "Cats and Dogs." I had a particularly hard time, making a choice. Dogs are more loyal and predictive, but cats love you by reading your face and posture. They can also, as all animals, smell how you are thinking without uttering a word. I had a pure white deaf as a post dog once. She was stone deaf, but she could "read my mind." Being all white is called the "Diluton factor." That is why so many white animals, if they can hear, it isn't as clear.

Ajax was in a big tall box in the woods with two brothers and sisters. We carried the starving and mangy pooches to my house. The two males didn't live. As Ajax matured, she could understand what we were saying by posture, facial expresson and sign language. Ajax was an excellent reader of sign language.

There will be no more at my house. My Cairn Terrier hates other dogs.

Thanks, again.

Review of A Tribute to Dad

Wow, Drifter! That is such a touching poem about your Dad's passing. I doubt any humorus poem could be more appropriate, but I do understand how she felt at the time. Your family can read all of the poems you wrote when you visit his graveside. That poem is so sweet and heartfelt.

My dad isn't doing well, but he has a few more miles on him. After his heart surgery, seven years ago, his mind isn't the same. Also his hearing is bad. So he sits in front of the TV all day, watching golf. It's just like me, spending all of my time on WDC! I am really my Father's Daughter in so many ways.

I can't write poetry, but when the time comes, I can write a eulogy. If I write it, I can memorize it and won't have to read to the rest of the mourners. I just feel so bad for you to lose your dad too soon.

Your Friend,
Lesley

Hello, S. J.

I just finished reading your poem, "A Turn of the World," then I read it aloud to my husband. He is more the poetry buff. The descriptions, such as, "Atop the tower of ash and stone.... the world. A world with a different North, East, South and West," Gave me wonder that you were somehow a time traveler, gazing at our dead earth.

But as I read more of the way your words work together and describes the subject, I realized you were on earth, and know the dance with start again at dawn.

Is that how it is meant? That is what it meant to me.

Your Friend,
Lesley

Hello, HaliN,

Your poem about drug addiction, "The Addict," captures the feelings and thoughts of a drug addict. I wrote in "Chasing the Dragon," You try to find the high you felt the first time and it is never as good as getting high is the first time. Like you wrote, "Until it's just you, a needle, a straw and your loved ones' heartache."

Keep up the Good Work,
Lesley

Hey, Lost Ghost!

You were sorely missed and I hope we didn't leave you too much of a mess. I am truly trying to find myself writing stories for children and young adults. I want to write stories with a content such as yours, taking something special and turning it into something more.

I read too many history books about different religions, physiology, articles and heart wrenching documentaries on U Tube about the animal crisis and you know, I'm even learning about Vodoo, not things kids would take to. Do you have any advice for me to be able to write about my concerns for conservation and animal rights and write it so children would enjoy learning.

What do you think? I patched up the Top Hat Hits the Trails, but I still think it needs some work.I wrote it because that ride was so funny and crazy and I wanted people to know not to believe everything they are told about mules, or most any animal. It just turned out to be too long.

That may be why I usually write shorter stories! Plenty of the problems and adventures I see around me or write about are becoming better. Enough people speaking to the right people can make a difference, if you want to make some significant changes. Things are looking up for the Yellow Stone Bison. Gotta fight That One!

When you are just sitting, thinking, please do jot down some of the items belonging in a child's story. I know they all like animals, but how to make them magic? Your latest prompt is a real challenge. I am really and truely so busy, I am at my wit's end. I will keep it in my head until something happens and I go, "Oh Yeah!"

I did love the story about Gandpa, Grandma, and the whole family's magical Christmas, "Christmas on Star Mountain. You certainly did tell a wonderful tale. It's like you never grew up --- me, neither!

Your Friend,
Lesley

Dear Grum,

I just had a chuckle, reading your fifty five word story, "King Tut." I have read a number of books on the history of Egypt, their strange beliefs and how they have to marry their own relatives, be it sister, son, mother and any other relative.

I am pleased that you spelled Tutankhamun the proper way. I always have to look it up. That movie, "The Mummy,' is one of the best movies I've seen. I especially like it now because it is woven from Egypt's own history. Of course, the movie is more exciting.

Again, I liked your idea,
Lesley

Howdy, Fancy,

You have a multitude of talents. Did you have horses or do you? I mostly had mules, ponies, donkeys, milkgoats and lot of other stuff.

I thought the dialogue between you, the adult, was well written for talking to a child. You talked to her like an adult, but slipped in some information, rules and lessons, too. I had a huge Belgian mare like Chester. She was six feet tall at the withers and weighed over 2200 pounds. She was gentle, thoughtful and never lost her temper. She liked for me to walk on her back and dig in my toes to give her a massage.

Yes, I do think children will love your story. Children always love stuff about animals, don't they? If I had decided to teach, I would have encouraged the students to write, then read, then write, then read. It's a good routine and while the kids wrote more and more, they would learn more and more. Don't you agree?

Let me go for a bit. I am editing a story for one of the contests, but I forgot if the one I planned to enter has been entered before. I guess I'll write a new one. It's the "55 Word" contest. I also like the 150 word story contest, and Words of the Wise. That is where all of my spiritual reading and writing has helped me ---- big time.
Oh, check my port. Gertrude, my mare, is on a couple of stories. Tell me what you think of "Savng Gertrude?" Or can I use one that already has an awardicon? No problem, I am a prolific writer, as you can tell.
Love,
L.

Hello, The Low Road,

I just finished reading your destressing neighborhood drama. Once a nasty pit bull puppy tried to grab my Cairn Terrier, Tinkervelle. As I walked up to the front door, she snapped at me in the face. Before I could get to the doorbell.

I told the owner, who picked up up as a stray, that unless she had the time to work with the dog, I hoped she had accident lawyers on her sell phone. The more I thought, I decided to do what needed doing for so long. I called the cops.

She was cited for haveing a dog loose, out of control, and an unpredicatble dog. She's gone now. I felt like I did them a favor.

But then, over 94% of impunded strays are maybe one point or less likely to be euthanized. We already have run out of space. That means if no one is found to own the got, it will be put to sleep ASAP.

One more tidbit: The owners of the winning animals in a cockfight, or dogfight, keep this inhumane pleasure rolling.

Lesley
Animal Control Officer

If this was, or is true, dogs fighting in their neighbors' homes and bitinb should be confinded for 10 days with no other contact with other pets. If you would feel safer, the neighboros can be whitnesses. Here, In SC, no dog is allowed to have his dog unleashed, running the neighborhood, fighting and snapping at people, as well as other animals.

Keep your vaccines current (also canine distempered) and you don't have to worry about a pointess complainter. I have always kept track of who owns which dog, it's name, or make my stand. The only bites I can complained about is my man-eating parrot.

I've been peeking at your port. You are quite a prolific writer. I think there is something inside of some of us that use what we learned to share. I was also impressed with the photograph your wife took of you on good hair day. I want to use some photos to share, but the ones I like are usually one or two pixels too much.
