Review of THE MAGICAL HORSE
Review by Lesley Scott
In affiliation with WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group
Rated: E | (3.5)
Hello. Teresa,

I just finished your short story, "The Magical Horse." I found it to be suitable for anyone to read. To me, it seems that the villagers were more selfish than to take proper care of this unusual animal. I am glad he was taken by Dilsham. I am not clear on what you mean by "cud."

Since horses don't chew cud like a cow or goat, maybe "droppings" would be a better word. But since it is for children, you probably can come up with an age suitable word. I would also break up some of your paragraphs. But that is up to you. I was told in one of my reviews not to use a ! unless it is appropriate.

See what I did without thinking? I wrote a long paragraph. But I couldn't figure out where to put one. I will try again.
Yours,
Lesley

Review of Music

Hello, MattiBoo,

I certainly do agree with your thoughts about music. I read a long time ago that to cheer up, listen to some quiet music to begin with and go on to faster music to get motivated. I love to do housework and wear my ipod. I have a collection of motivating rock and roll. My most favorite (I have lots of them) is Eric Clapton. I still consider him as God. Just kidding, but he is the best in the world. You are right, "Without music I don't know what I'd do." Oh, BTW, you spelled "I'd" id. Otherwise everything looks great to me.

Yours,
Lesley

Hey, Friend,

The Christmas Handle is beautiful. I love the way the tree is done in an abstract way and it is perfect with the dark and light blue color. I guess you will have to wait until Christmas to use this handle. I can see why it won the "Squrtoon Auction."

Hello, J. A. Buxton,

I just finished your story for the "Writers' Cramp" contest, and congratulations for winning. I thought is was a very good piece. The desciption of the family painted a picture of the way a family should be. I thought the "Sergent" was refusing to take a picture because she didn't want to stand next to someone. I liked the ending when I found out she was having her photo taken with your tire swing.

Yours,
Lesley

Hello, again,

I love your new sig. It reminds me of a rainbow after a summer rain. Hummingbird-Smiling made a very good design. I used a picture from Teargen of humpback whales. I had been searching for humpback whales for a long time. I had a couple to choose from, but this picture is clear.

I entered my story about my mule. Do you know how I can fix those bold letters at the last part of the story? If you would give me an edit, please feel free. That is how I learn the most.

Love,
Lesley

Review of Crayola

Hello, Dave,

Your poem, "Crayola," is such a descriptive piece. The words painted a lovely and colorful interpretation of a wide array of colors that paints a picture in the readers' mind. I liked all of the poem, but one of my favorite lines is: "She flashes pictures across the landscape with a grand flourish that leaves me agape."

Keep on Writing,
Lesley

for entry "Giants and Tinies
Review by Lesley Scott
Rated: 18+ | (4.0)
Good Morning!
I just finished reading, "Giants and Tines." I think it is so cool. All I ever knew about giants was "Jack the Giant Killer," "Goliath," and not much more. I am small, but I'm up there at four feet, eleven inches. I feel like a giant after reading about dwarfs and migets. I do read your newsletters, just most of the time, I don't do a review. Keep up the Good Work!

Review of Joe's Night Out

Hello, Jezri,
I just finished reading your freaky poem, "Joe's Night Out." Psyco Joe sure had a few intesting friends, too. The first one to the "feast," Crazy Bob, mentally impaired, seemed like a cool friend. All of the ghouls were really creepy. I remember a magazine comic book called, "Creepy," with Uncle Creepy. You should write some stuff for them! Well the party was fun and the food sounded... interesting. I am a vegetarian, myself.
Your,
Lesley

Hello, Pony Tale,
I've read some of your stories and I think I may have given you a review. You'll get a good review on "Sorrel-Red-Saturdays." I did like the way you made me picture the weather and the terrain so well, I could smell it. I raised horses for a while, and one of my favorites was a half Arab mare. She was a pistol. Her Daughter was hot until she turned 12. She lived 34 years!
Great Story!

Wow! That is so exciting to be at an official Vodu Ceremony. I know little about the religion, I just know it is largely practiced in New Orleans and other parts of the South. I feel that it is all real. I did read that Catholisim is closely related to the Vodu world, One of the first High Prestess, I'm sure you probably know her name. But she spent lots of time with the Priest there.

From your interesting story, I wish I could have an experience like that that would change my world. In a way, a lot of religions have dancing and singing and what about the Evanelists? I would rather believe in Vodu and I do now!
Thanks for a great read! I will look up some books and read some stuff about it.

I also try to be a Sage of the Tao Te Ching. It is simple and kind and natural.
The vodu seems more fun!
Your Friend,
Lesley

Dear bumblegum,

I just read your short story. I can't believe how much information came out of just 55 words. It is a bit brutal, but I thought I noticed some dark humor. It gives the impression of two stories, almost three when you count what happened to his son, wondering if he will live or not. Write another one

Hello,mTim Chiu,
I just finished reading your inspirational poem, "The Problem of Belief In Sports." I will bet you were always a sports fan. I liked the quote: "Trust in our Team mates, while looking within." I like your poem because it lets people know how to deal with themselves and how lives are lived.

Hello, again, Max!

I feel honored that you took your time to read, "If Wishes Were Horses." I have only seen know twice and it was a real pain. I sometimes write about my phobias, and things that fighten me. I think it helps me learn more about how we feel about silly phobias.

I will rewrite the story because I had already seen some obvious mistakes. I wrote it for "have I Got a Story for you." So it was written from a rough diagram. Thanks to you, I may now be able to win an award --- or not!

Your Good Friend,
Lesley

I can tell you have a love of animals and a true concern to save out planet. Join some of the organizations, such as "Defenders of the Wild," and "Greenpeace." A lady called me one day, asking me to donate to "The Teaparty." I told her, "You should spend your money on something more important, like "Green Peace.' She slammed down the phone making my left ear huring a day or so.

I still feel like if Jesus came back, he would be a whale!

Hello,
Holly,

I am always impressed with the way you write such reviews. I don't write poetry, but my husband reads it and we discuss some of them for my reviews.

I have Bipolar Disorder, but can keep it under a lid when I need. I write a lot of true adventures with animals and wonder If I may run out my work. With your help, Marryann, and Breaker, among a few, I might have chance of another awardicon!

My parents tell me to stay off of the computer, that I am wasting my time. Nobody will read my stories anyway. I try to convince her that I write true and unusual animal stories. They won't even read any of my work, I would love to convince them is a Creative Writing Class. But they don't buy my explanation.

Since I've never pleased them before, I won't try to please anyone but myself.

Yours
Lesley

Hello, again, Trurtle,

As usual, I do enjoy reading your poetry. It always make me feel something. "Strange Forces,
reminded me of how life changes us over time. I particularly like the ending, "I am free to find that my weakness is my greatest strength." That is very profound.

Hello, Edword,

Your lovely poem, "The Barrier..Time," was really very good, especially being written at a chafe. It is a shame that there is a barrier between two people who love each other. I know how that feels. I also like your style and choice of descriptive words.

It is dufficult for me to write, but I love reading poetry. You are right about the Powers of Prayer. It brings about a serenity and is instrumental in our lives.

Hello, Pony Tale,

I just finished reading your poem, "What the Track Does For Me." I like the Samisen style. I don't write poetry, but I know how it makes me feel. Your description of what it seems like being a jockey at the race track. I know how it feels to run with a horse fast, and it scares me!
