"A True Band of Brothers!" What an awesome, moving, and powerful story. Oldwarrior, Wounded Veteran, you made me cry tonight as I wonder when will America truly accept Blacks and their contributions to our great Country. We bleed, and we die. We work and we contribute. We are proud to be Americans, and yet even when we die on the battlefield, we are still the N word.

What will it take to just be an American that loves this Country enough to die for it and all those who live in it?

Great story. Great reminder of how far we have come, and how far we must still go in our search for true freedom and acceptance in land that has witnessed some of the most brutal treatment of an entire race of people. Thank you for sharing such a powerful story.

Why I read it: It popped up on newsfeed as I was browsing.

Why I liked: The entire story. Well written, and reminded me so much of that time in our history.

Oldwarrior -- Wounded Veteran, thank you for expressing your opinion. Many of your views I share. I also disagree with a few, but then that is what is so wonderful about this Country we can agree to disagree and still join hands to support our neighbors.

Why I read your piece: It was randomly assigned, but also because I liked the subject matter and enjoyed reading another opinion on our great society.

What I Liked: It was well written and expressed a many great truths about where government should be on several issues. Straight forward.

Fyndorian, NOW THAT IS A WOW! Yet it is oh so true. Not only are those who fought lying in pieces, but so are the businesses, the people left behind, the land on which they fought, and yes, the country in which the war was waged. So many lives left in pieces all in the name of peace. Thank you for sharing.

Why I read your poem: It popped up as I was looking to post a piece I had just written, and I thought read it, it's there. Glad I did and glad it popped up.

What I liked: It was short and so very true.

Catrix77, thank you for sharing your story.

Why I read it: It was randomly selected, and the title was catchy
What I liked" It was a short piece, and the tile intriguing.
Reaction: Great possibilities
Suggestions for change:
I pulled out by (my) book and read,(.)
(I felt uncomfortable as I noticed how) Justin, the not-bad-looking boy above me, was glancing at me. Examples of what you might wish to consider as you edit your piece.
Recommendation: Has the makings of a good short story, but needs tight editing, and a cleaner transition into the storyline.

Just my views and reactions to your written piece. I am not an expert writer. I am still learning the trade, so use what you can, ignore the rest.

Review of SIR TOM THUMBE
Review by G. B. Williams

Joy of House Florent, thank you for writing and sharing your re-write of tom Thumbe. I remember the original Tom Thumb from when I was much younger. I love Tom becoming a secret even for the queen, and the taking in of Tom's family by the queen out of her own funds. Tom did not stray too far from his original mischievous self. LOL Nice re-write.

Why I read it: It was randomly chosen for me to read. It also caught my interest as I followed the storyline.

What I liked: It was about a familiar story with a different twist.

Changes: None

Prosperous Snow Neva, I am working to understand beats and counts, but not there yet. LOL Thank you for sharing. Without any help, I can understand poetry, feelings, and meanings, and some just speak to me. I believe that without love, there would have been no impetus to create anything. Because of it, God created the world and all creation. Thank you so much for sharing.

Why I read your poem: It was randomly assigned.
What I liked: The topic that was covered, and the brevity with which you got to the point.
What I would change: Nothing.

Siblings seem to always find a reason to be on discord. Don't worry, they usually find their way back to each other and that is what is most important. I pray that the wedding is joyous and that the family comes together on one accord.

Why I read this poem: It was second or third in your portfolio.

What I liked: The quick and easy way an entire story was told, and immediately understood.

What I would change: My two daughters haven (have) not talked since...

Jennyheart, I completely agree with you. Time is the most valuable resource that we have. We don't own it, but it is ours as long as we are here to use it. More often than not we squander our time. We spend time hating. We spend time wishing for things we do not have. We spend time being jealous of others. We spend time working for things that break or do not last. We spend almost no time on relationships.

Time is not wasted when used to love, share, and be a part of the life of others.

Why I read your poem: I was invited to review your portfolio and this was the first one on the page.

What I liked: The message in the poem, but also the reflection.

What I would change: Absolutely, nothing.

Thank you so much for the invite. I will continue to look at others in your folder.

Jackniegut, thank you again for reviewing my piece. I understand why you would want me to read "God Knows and Sees All." For me, it speaks to a lifetime of grieving over the loss of a son. It speaks to staying faithful and humble in God's sight, but also of giving up, yet the work God placed you here to do was not finished. So, even as you aged and felt death near, you could not choose to leave, only God could make that decision. The fear of losing another son when he became ill may have triggered the desire to die before your sick son, but event then God knew and understood.

No, we do not always know God's will and purpose even when we profess to be children of God. Thank God that you are still here and took the time to write to express your feelings.

Why I read your piece: You invited me to read it, and I am glad that I did

What I liked: I loved the fact that you chose to share some of your most innermost feelings, and your submission to God's will.

Recommendations/Suggestions: I suggest that you consider a rewrite of this piece with an eye to improving the flow. At times, I felt that it was a little bumpy, but knew where you were going with the storyline. I would also recommend the following:

...than (then) the worst thing could happen.
Check your spacing in WDC

I am NOT an expert writer or grammarian but think that the rewrite would improve your work tremendously. PLEASE only use what you think helps. Throw out the rest of my comments that you feel do not apply. I truly appreciated the opportunity to read "God Knows and Sees All."

Colleen K, thank you for writing this piece. It speaks of sounds and elements that I so completely appreciate. Soft rain in the night. Rain on a tin roof. Rain in the summertime with clear skies overhead. Love and emotion. Gentle. There to comfort and hold. Nestling close without any other need to full ful. Warmth and feeling of just being close to the love of another.

Why I read it: It was randomly selected and assigned.
What I liked: The subject that was addressed in the poem.

Review of Unrequited love

Raneyuu, I can feel the pain and anguish of a hidden love that needs to be shared. I guess, I am that one person that has never had this feeling. Well, maybe the feeling, but not the good since not to share it with the other person. In both cases, the feelings were mutual, and turned into wonderful relationships.

Why I read "Unrequited Love?": It was a random selection, and it was poetry.
What I liked: The way it was written and the feelings placed in the wrting
Recommendations/Suggestions: If this is about you, take the risk and tell the person. If it is not, it is a nice love poem.

Josie, your poem seems to be a tribute to someone that is no longer here. It is light, but heavy in the message of love for the departed person. I think I like the way this is written because it does not make me feel sad even though the message seems to be a sad one.

What I liked: The style in which it was written.

Keaton, your poems seems to focus on digging into the minds of and matter of why people exist and how they behave in and during that existence. I often probe some of the same question, i.e., what really make us tick? I think it is a subject that is explored often by those who think a lot. My response to your way of describing your thoughts on the matter is VERY CREATIVE. Thanks for sharing.

Why I read it: It was randomly selected.
What I liked: The message in it poem like pronouncement.
Recommendation/Suggestion: They let out a (an) unified scream. It sounds better with a, but the next word starts with a vowel. Just a thought.

Review of The New Patient
Review by G. B. Williams
In affiliation with Showering Acts of Joy Group
Rated: E | (4.5)
Very interesting, LibraryPat. I like the introduction of the character and the doctor's state of mind as he approaches his new patient. It is also interesting how you weave the doctor's lack of belief into his own self denial that the story couldn't be true, and that the patient must be committed to an institution for her own good. Showing that he never once believed her. Such skepticism is often displayed by professionals when they are not open to the possibilities.

Why I read it: It was a random selection.
What I liked: I liked the way the story was weaved together to bring the surprised ending, i.e., the smell of the ocean, and the trail of water that followed as the patient was leaving.
Recommendations/Suggestions: None.

Why I read it: It was randomly assigned by the computer.

Francis McKenzie Elliot, what a precious tribute to your mother! Thank you so much for sharing. I appreciated the words, the message, and the love that you put into writing this. If you are like me, you cried during the process, but you got those words out. My Mother died almost 22 years ago, and I write something for her almost every single years. Her love and her lessons are as fresh as this morning, and I am always proud to be called her daughter.

Why I read "Once Upon A Time?" It was randomly assigned, and I was intrigued by the description -- Something for my mom. I am glad that it was given to me to read.

What I liked: I not only liked, but loved the message that you gave throughout the poem. It made me think and remember my Mother, but it also mad me think of a family that just recently lost their mother.

Suggestions/Recommendation: One suggested change --Help my (me) Lord to keep alive her memory here forever.

Again, thank you for sharing.

What a POWERFUL PIECE! I just had this very discussion with my daughter and a few others this week. Thank you for taking the time to express the madness that is so rampant in our society. It seems that we have just lost control over all values that made this Country so great, but then it is not only in America. The world seems to be infected with this terrible disease.

Why I read your piece: I wanted to write at least one review today, and your showed up as the very first one in the random selection. Glad it did.

What I liked: It spoke to an issue that I too have lots of concerns and questions about, and did it in poetry form. Matter of fact and very accurate.

What would I change (Note: I am NOT an expert on grammar, but just thought the following would improve what is already a great piece.):
"Deaths(Death's) delight"
"Well (While) another dies"
"Whose (Who is or who's) is right"

Lou-Working, your poem is timely and speaks to the condition that is taking place in many cultures. We could substitute, elephants and their ivory, alligators and their skin, our own tree forestry that is being removed daily for concrete buildings and profit. The ozone may have nothing to do with what we are doing, but we are systematically destroying our world for profit, and eliminating many species of animals (including parrots), flowers, and trees.

Why I read your piece: It was randomly assigned, and I am committed to reviewing various authors this week.
What I liked: The subject matter that is addressed, as well as the treatment of the subject matter in the poem. I found the poem to be written in a very interesting manner, and I am sure it has a name, so I learned something about writing poetry today. Thank you.
What I would change: Not sure I would change anything at this time.

Suggestions/questions/comments: Very nicely done. Timely piece on our environment.

Thank you for writing and sharing this. I enjoyed reading it.
