I read a what-if scenario of Operation Sea Lion and was impressed by the plans of a cross channel invasion of England. Had Sea Lion gone ahead, with Barbarosa cancelled, things may have turned out very different. Well done Mike.
Well written Mike. Reminds me of the movie "Final Countdown" back in 85 or so. I kinda, sorta, hoped you would add a tiny bit more and cream Japs. LOL!. Thanks
I love Alternate history and have a few in my port. One I just finished, The Final Solution is about WWII and the aftermath.
I thought this was well done. I could easily relate to your character, even though we live in different worlds. A bit short perhaps, but, I am always reaching for more. Thanks for sharing. I am out reading stories of the Sci-Fi group I recently joined.
Excellent. This is the kind of sci-fi I was weaned on. Like Ray Bradberry, Bob Heinlein, Andre Norton, and many of the oldies, this was well done and well received.
Well done Geralyn. Looking forward to reading more of your stories and/or poetry. P.S. I also went to Catholic school and the nuns gave me a good whacking of Latin, History, English, Math and the mean ruler they carried around.
Excellent! This was well done Walkinbird. It's almost as if you had the memories of the People to call upon. I also have native American ancestry. I also believe in reincarnation. In fact, I think I have lived hundreds of times because when I study history, which I love, I always feel as if I was once there. When I visited great cities in Europe, I often knew my way around. Strange but true.
Very well done. I am no poet so I enjoy reading traditional poetry. I love the Irish twist, sort of like my poem "My Pretty Irish lass"
Thanks for sharing and write on.
I must admit this was different, but very enjoyable. I flinch when I read stories written from Merry old England. Why? Because you use such good and proper English it feel there is no way I can write like that. Most of my writing is historical and Sci-Fi, with twisted tales and poor poetry.
Thanks for sharing this.
I enjoyed my visit to London back in 1966. I would love to go back.
This was exceptionally well done Sharon. Reading it, I almost thought it was a story written years ago and passed on down to we mere mortals. A great read, smooth, interesting, and well worth six stars, unfortunately, I can only give you 5.
A well written piece of writing, however, it must be a chapter of novel.
I was a bit lost as to what era, or war, or revolution is involved. I assumed to be 17th or 18th century.
The writing is great though.
Very unusual but well done R.P. One doesn't often think of God a growing bored, however, when you've done it all, from the beginning of time, boredom seems inevitable. Then again, I guess we cannot equate ourselves with such an almighty being. Welcome to WDC.
Another well done chapter.
I enjoy the way you interspersed historical figures into the scene, like Kennedy, and others.
Your action scenes are well done and move fast.
I think you're onto something here, perhaps a good book
I recommend you go back to the beginning and insert at least two or three Main characters, a few for each side, and have them follow through on the action.
Stories are better when you can connect with a good group of characters.
I'll be looking for more.
You might enjoy my book, Hitler's Granddaughter"
Most of it is on this site.
Great job!
Keep on writing.
This may be an older write, but, I think it is wonderful. If only the rest of the millennial generation could come to understand exactly what you just wrote. Freedom is not free. Thanks and God Bless!
Well done Smee. Reads like the first chapter of a good novel or novelette. Your writing is smooth, transitions well done, grammar excellent, and interest fletching. Will be back to read more.
Very well done M.R.
Your writing style is very smooth and descriptive narrative enriching. I think you could write a great novel given the right genre and desire.
I enjoyed this tale very much. I was thinking in the back of my mind all the time I was reading it, a story I saw in the twilight zone. In that story, aliens came to earth as friends and talked us into migrating or immigrating to their planet. At the end of the story, it was discovered that a book they had left and could not interpret, finally turned out to be a cookbook. They were immigrating us for food. This well done story reminds me of that movie. Well done!
