Review of Love
Review by sadorose
Rated: E | (5.0)
A very sweet and adorable meet story. The reactions to the most innocuous gestures was very illustrative of young love. The characters are very relatable youths, who are falling in love for the first time. I hope it lasts a lifetime. I really enjoyed reading this story.

Review of Wisps - Published
Review by sadorose
Rated: E | (5.0)
A very interesting story. The mind trip reminded me of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", my favorite Shakespeare play. I like how you did not fully explain what the whisps were which makes them more mysterious. The effects of whatever they did was beautifully diabolical. I am glad that they returned to normal and loved each other again. I enjoyed reading this story.

Review of It's that man
Review by sadorose
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
I am glad that more short stories are to follow. The character was compelling and believable. You showed her fear of being stalked very clearly. Leaving the questions of who the man is, why he is following her and did she ever manage to escape him unanswered for the reader to answer for themselves keeps the reader engaged instead of just spoon feeding them the story to passively digest it. I enjoyed reading this story.

A very cute and entertaining short story. There was almost childlike feel to the character's dream of becoming a pirate. It was a fun little diversion that made me smile with its innocence. This girl/woman would make an adorable pirate. I really enjoyed reading this.

It may not be finished, but it seems nearly done. This story discusses the destruction abuse does to a young soul. This boy is very sympathetic and believable. This story has a semi-autobiographical feel to it. This was a very compelling tale. I enjoyed reading it.

A nice blending of ancient Greek myth and modern fiction. The characters were engaging and believable. I liked how you left the story on the edge of action, leaving the reader to finish it in their imagination. I really enjoyed reading this story. I have always enjoyed ancient Greek and Roman myths.

Review of For Him
Review by sadorose
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
A very romantic poem indeed. It asks the question of does anyone really know what love is in a way that gives some examples of what love could feel like. The imagery of the love in the poem clearly shows that love can make you feel terrified and yet completely happy. I enjoyed reading this poem.

You managed to pack a lot of information in a short piece. Napoleon was an important figure in history. Focusing on only one battle sparks a desire to learn more about him. He was a military genius of his day. You were lucky to have such a wonderful history teacher. I am sure they would be pleased to know that they were the spark.I enjoyed reading this.

Review of Fire

Justice is served quickly in this poem. It made me smile that they got punished for treating nature so irresponsibly. Personifying the trees by declaring them afraid was a powerful phrase. It drove the lesson of being responsible with fire home. I enjoyed reading this poem.

A beautiful poem of Christmas love. The imagery paints a gorgeous picture of the love a family has for each other. The joy of the season is captured in this snapshot scene. Your family bond shows very clear in every line of this poem. I really enjoyed reading this, it makes me look forward to Christmas already.

Review of Honorific Santa

You rose to the challenge of the prompt. Many stories have been told where Santa has been unable to perform his duties and there was a substitute,BUT, you brought a fresh angle with making Mrs. Claus the substitute. It was a nice Christmas short story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Jason, a very eloquent anti-bullying statement. The repeated use of the phrase, "the silent ones," pulls the poem together. The imagery illustrates the damage bullying and abuse does to the victims. The flow led me through the poem by my hand. This poem gives voice to the victims and lets them know that they are not alone. thank you for sharing.

Review of The Debt
Review by sadorose
Rated: 18+ | (5.0)
An intense and dramatic conversation. The dialogue tells a tale of desperation and fraternal drama. You managed to get a lot of story in a brief conversation. I like how you leave the reader to figure out if they find another way to get the money, or if the big brother gets killed. I enjoyed reading this story.

Review of December 2, 1995
Review by sadorose

An interesting short story. Leaving the ending so open has the reader wanting more. Leaving the question of why that date was important unanswered engages the reader in answering it themselves. The characters were engaging. I really enjoyed reading this short story.

A very inspirational quote. We all have our demons, and it is true that we cannot grow or even move forward until those demons are confronted and exorcised. To realize our personal best, we must conquer the past. This quote can leave you feeling empowered.

Review of THE PET
Review by sadorose
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
An intriguing short story. Keeping any hint that something was dreadfully wrong until near the end keeps the reader engaged. I like that you used an uncommon pet, I do not think anybody has a pet anaconda. I also liked how you strongly hinted at the firefighters were fed to the snake, leaving the gory details up to the reader.

Review of Immigration
Review by sadorose
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
A very eloquent argument on the hot button topic of immigration. Putting your personal story into it puts a human face to it. I am glad you have found a home here in the United States. You put forth a solid argument on the humanity of the immigrants, showing that most are good people. Opening and closing with a quote was an effective tool to draw in the reader. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of Commute
Review by sadorose
Rated: E | (5.0)
This short story did a very effective job of showing that a commute can be a relaxing and centering time. I liked how you showed the futility of a monotonous grinding routine in the first line. The image of just digging never finding your reward, only more dirt was very illustrative of that grind. I enjoyed this short story.

An interesting short story. A little bit sad in the end that you were looking for protection and only received a slap. A proper ghost story to scare children with on Halloween. I did wonder about the cotton in the nose and mouth, is that a custom in your culture, or just a device in the story? I enjoyed reading this story.
