Dave, I am a transplant from the ranch to the city.
I have a many of mile on horse back. I my youth I made my living climbing on horses backs when they still had the wild in their eyes. I trained race horses for years.
I have a RAT story that I know you will like. Its in my port "CRITIQUE". Dave I know the work is never done on a ranch but take time to read this, you will get a real kick out of it. No brag, just fact.
Good job Mate, I be a sailor myself, well really an Army guy that likes to sail. The waiting is always hard for the ones we leave behind.
Take a look at the story "TALL TALE" in my port, I think you will like it. Also you might want to take a look at "CHRISTMAS JULY 1969" it won the Honor the Vets contest.
Thanks for the read, I look forward to reading more of your work.
"I told this girl I wanted her first-born child, but it was such an ugly baby, the girl wouldn’t even breast feed it. She said she only liked it as a friend."
You did a good job here , but you know that.
Did you hear the one about the joke writer that wasn't funny.
Mom, Great job you did with these words. Freedom is God's greatest gift. For those who give their lives the reward
is for always to find comfort in God's warm embrace.
My friend I am from the school of very hard knocks and I am crying. These words weep from your mind's eye that has lived with pain. I am so glad that this has a happy ending other wise I would have been sick about this all day. The little time you had with your child can never be replaced. You can take pride in that even with the shell your little girl knew she was deeply loved. You did a great job with her DAD.
Look forward to reading more of your work; if I can take it. A writer who can bear his soul like this is very talented.
Good luck to her. When women are free to offer their dreams and become an equal, the burtality of their country's customs takes a back seat. History has shown us that men left to rule alone makes for a very unpleasent life.
We can only hope that all woman of the world will some day have their say.
Thanks for the read. I am looking forward to reading more of your stuff.
Dark, great job. You captured a woman's love and pain.
I felt like I was standing on the cliff with her. I still have the chill in my bones. I am a sailor and and enjoy all stories that have to do with the sea.
Take a look at my Port I have a short story (less than 1000 words) called Tall Tale I think you will like.
Thanks again for the read. I look forward to reading more of your work.
Billy there are so many great lines in this story I don't even know how to review it.
I don't find many lines that I wish were mine; but.
"He rubbed at his truly enormous nose that fell out of his face like a rotting pear,"
Oh man, that one should be carved in stone somewhere.
Geoff
