The piece is well written also, I guess I'm not sure the desired effect? Are people to quit their responsibilities in order to achieve personal nirvana?

Wow that was beautiful, more of a letter than story, but beautiful just the same. I think anyone with a grandparent can feel that love and relate to the inside jokes you make reference to. Your style flows nice and eas, as if you were speaking to your grandpa. Really quite touching, I liked it a lot..
