You nailed this! Now print it off and paste (Staple, glue nail, velcro) it to somewhere prominent on your workstation. As you write your first vignette ask yourself, "Am I using a mix of components making the work multidimensional or am I only using one or two, making it more one-dimensional?"
Next check the distribution (Components/percentages) Ask Yourself, "Have I sort of used the same distribution and number of words as my favorite author, when writing this vignette?"
As you note components in your reading keep a list. The ones I used are not the only ones in a writer's tool box. I didn't mention, foreboding, humor and interior dialog. When you see something cool make a note and try using it in your writing.
