She is young and just starting a new chapter in her life.
She has been waiting for this time for all the school years; like most kids.
Well, here it is and she is overwhelmed.
What to do? How to do it? Everything is on her now. Her goals are out there waiting but can she actually achieve them?

All the doubts seems like giant mountains right now. Soon she will find her footing and take the steps she has prepared for.
Just right now, she needs to catch her breath.
Then watch her fly.
She can do it.

Thanks for sharing.

The story is written from the little puppy's point of view.
On his walk he becomes a bit adventurous and gets lost. The darkness is beginning to fall and the puppy is afraid.
Before long he hears his masters voice. Faster than fast he runs and jumps into the safety arms waiting for him.

I like happy endings.
Thank you for sharing.
The puppy picture is adorable.

A little boy felt left out, as the other children played. That wasn't suppose to be that way.
One of the children went behind a tree and began screaming. The other children ran to see why. Each froze at the sight including our character.

The explanation is sad.
Very unexpected.
Good twist.
Good descriptions.
Easy to follow the events.

What a beautiful piece. I had to read it over and over again. I can picture him with his hands outstretched and preaching to the birds and animals.
They weren't afraid of him and listened to his words about our Lord.
Think of all the Lord's blessed handy work that so many never take notice of.

St Francis was a simple man and felt blessed for God's love. At first he felt insignificant and unworthy. Although he felt humble, to be loved by birds and animals alike brought him such joy.
Next time you see a statue of him; notice how the birds make it there resting place. Could your heart begin to understand how much they are loved.

Thank you for sharing this lovely piece on this blessed Sunday.

The author brings us a thoughtful piece about life.
The river of life continues to flow. We grow as individuals as it flows.
Some will use this flow as an inspiration to create beauty. As Thoreau considered the Concord River his muse, bringing his thoughts and wonder of this talent to mankind.

Then Chapin considering nature running in constant circles. First the moon then the dawn and back again. Even the chance of meeting someone in life again is likely because of the interwoven circles.

When the end comes, will we have created beauty as nature does and find the familiarity Harry spoke of?

Will we embrace the beauty we are blessed with and share it with others?

Thank you for sharing.

A mom is in a real pickle. A clown. What to do?
The party will be a disaster.
Then she decides to be the clown.
That didn't work but something great happened.
Those little girls comforted the clown because it was sad.
Then the mom decided to take the party into another direction.
One smart cookie was she.
Sweet little girls were clowns and every one had fun.

Thank you for this lighthearted piece.
A feel good piece.

Our author opens up her heart in this piece. There was so much done to her people so long ago. She cries even now for those dreams lost and their land as well.

Can money or trinkets bring any of them back?
Can the eagle watch from above the love that is gone for Mother Nature?
Can the owl watch the forest and warn of evil coming?
Can the white buffalo bring victory and respect to them again?
Are those long paths of pain and tears, left for all to see?
Are the rocks along those paths stained with children and elders blood?
Do those promises and papers blow aimlessly by the mountain winds?
Do you see their spirits on the horizon and hear their songs across the valleys?
Do you see the tears in the young ones eyes?

Indeed things were different then. Taking a young boy in a bar now would be frowned on. Back then it was just part of their day together. The uncle didn't offer him a drink or cause any trouble to endanger him. The boy thought it was fun and probably felt a little grown up. After all it was time to celebrate after the game.

When you think about it; how many families are glued to the TV on game day. Friends come and kids play and all around the kids is beer.
Yelling and screaming at the players making such a commotion isn't frowned on now. Think how impossible it would be for a policemen to visit every house on Super Bowl Sunday and haul away those having a snort to protect the children.

People need to see to the children's well being and set limits.

He is letting her into his heart again. He is under no illusion she might cheat again. He wants something to hold on to. Something to count on. Something to believe in.
But can he have that with her?
They have been down this road so many times and he is always left hanging. Wondering why. Thinking of her words and how they meant nothing at the time.

Then they get together, talk, become united again with more and more promises.
This poor guy loves her enough to try one more time. Lets pray she is worth it.

It might come the time when one of the partners decides that he loves her enough to let her go. he wants her to be happy and he knows he isn't doing the job. Staying away and leaving her lonely. Taking her for granted and watching their love fall apart.
Finding the strength to do what's right isn't an easy task. It would be so much simpler to put the blame on the other person and leave Scott free.
Our character might have made mistakes but he knows what is right and wrong. He is accepting his fault in this tragic love story. He wholeheartedly wishes her all the best and to find someone worthy of her.

Thank you for sharing.

Being part of humanity has some special circumstances involved. As soon as one human becomes strong enough to take control of the other human; we loose our free will.
Then what are we?

Lets say that one human is in charge but that human has forgotten about morals and intellect. Perhaps even forgot about love and feelings or compassion.

Lets say that human is nothing more than an empty shell with the power to transform and move another about as ordered.

In other words that one human is pulling the strings as the other helplessly dangles as the wind blows back and forth like a pendulum.

Shouldn't we have more to do with our existence than to be a puppet on a string. Should we allow one to control us? NO.

Should we not stand up and find that humanity that once was ours? As the piece suggest, humanity is sad. We don't have to let others destroy what happiness we find or joy we feel. What right do they have to pick at our flaws and make fun of our choices we make.

Stand up, fight for you.

Thank you for sharing.

An elderly man is going fishin by himself. His wife is gone on without him and his son has his own life elsewhere.
The elderly man reflects on his life and how things are moving slower now.
------------

Then his mind is carried away on the wings of the past. To those times when he was young and his wife gave him a son. She was pretty and he misses her. When the son and dad finished fishing there would be one really good dinner.
-----------

Then he comes back to today. He has a big fish on the line. Heavy in weight tells him that the fish must be old. Finally after a struggle; he lands it.
Looking at the elderly fish and thinking of himself; he decides she needs to keep on going like he does.
---------------

The best part of the story comes next. The part that will change his life. The part that brings joy to his heart.

Thank you for sharing.
You words brought the piece together well and believable.
I love happy endings.

Apparently at one time there was a contest on WDC about a good rant.
Well our author rants about reviewers.

Putting them into 3 different categories.
Nitpicking
A-hole reviews and raters
I am God

Well there are nitpickers; that can be no doubt.
There are also those that find insult the objective.
Then there are those that feel their opinion is the be all end all.

The opinionated piece goes on and on to make a point.
Try to look at others work and realize it took a lot of time and effort. Don't just blow it off like it was a feather caught on a blustery day.
Find something inside it that shows meaning.
Sometimes the meaning is obvious and sometimes it take time and thought.

Any way you look at it, we all had to start somewhere.
Give the author a fair shake. Words can help to build them up or tare them down.

Thank you for sharing.

Kids, kids, kids. You never know what kind of mess they will get into.

This time it's a gravestone near a marshy area. It really stinks there too. It is making them all a bit sick to their stomachs.
The begin chanting but the stone won't move.
The leader girl thinks they should do the chant again. There is just one problem; some of the kids hear something in the water.

What did they do?
Did they wake up some thing that should have remained in the marsh?
Good twist at the end.

We have a young boy and girl looking at a corpse on the rug.
What to do?
All they could think about is how much trouble they will be in.
The boy tries to reason with the girl saying it's not their fault the corpse is making a mess.
The girl has a one track mind and develops a plan to keep their fannies out of trouble.

The old roll-it-up-in-the-rug caper.

No wonder you won with this.

Young boys on a camp out have to welcome any new members in a special way.
To pass the new boy must eat a disgusting T-rd dog.
As our character gets closer to the moment of truth; he must have been a lovely shade of green.
His friend was taunting him with the object that very well could remain in his digestive system for eternity.

The ending made me feel better.
Glad it came about the way it did.

A man had created a nice comfy place to think and enjoy the cool breeze blowing his way.
The neighbors were busy doing what neighbors do.
A boy was playing with his very persistent dog.
The dog was a male dog; need there be any other comment.
Everything in his immediate area was fair game including the boy.
Things go from bad to worse. The boy ends up in a rather unusual position.
Our resting character finds himself in an unusual position as well.

Thanks for the laughs.

Another night of waiting.
No illusions surround.
No excuses needed.
Not here again but with someone else.
The locks are changed but still there is weakness felt.
Our character is angry and wishes there was a way to bring about vengeance.
Then why should our character become that which is so disliked.
Instead our character keeps dignity and stands at ground zero waiting for the latest in the parade of lies and will not lower to their standards.

Deer hunting has been around for a long time. As times has moved on, it's not for the food they kill.
It's not for the pelts for clothing they kill. It's for the mounting on the wall and the pat on the back.

In this piece the author shares the thoughts of the prey. Finally they have a voice.
I know some naturalists say it is better to thin them out because of food but there is one way that really p-sses me off.

Those hunters that SPOT-LIGHT them.
Blinded on the road by the headlights so they are helpless.(JUST ME VENTING)

Here we have a man calling his lady an angel.
Well, even angels need to know where they stand.
The man thinks she might want to be free and says it's ok.
Perhaps she was expecting a different answer.
She begins to leave and it finally dawns on him he better speak up.
So he tells her how much he will miss her. How she is the best of them all.
Being a woman, that statement right there would tend to really p-ss me off. Like how many are there and where does she fit in the line.

The thought of her leaving makes him sick, he says.
Still he continues on with a guilt trip and she comes running back. Promising her no worries or fear.

I read this piece three times and finally figured out what he was doing.
He is playing her like a fiddle. More than likely in about 3 or 4 weeks she will need reassurance again.
Never forget, he admitted there were others.(she was the best) What does he tell the rest?

Our author brings us an uplifting piece this evening. The fact that a writer has a passion for the work. A dedication and the acceptance that there may be good or bad reception of the piece submitted.
Still the writer's heart keeps doing what it does. It dreams and converts those dreams to the pen.

She feels lost in this world. She doesn't feel she fits in. She has been hurt and has scars. She has even caused some scars on others.
Time has taken its toll leaving emptiness behind.
Getting close to her is impossible and a bit risky.
As hard as she might try to overcome those things any clues slip away on the wind.
To her she is lost, empty and it shows in her eyes.
Just remember she didn't become so hardened on her own. Something turned a young girl into a angry, isolated woman.

She is in love with a boy.
There is going to be a parting.
So what should she tell him before he goes.
Something that will stick with him and help him know how much he means to her.
She can't let this opportunity go by without expressing her feelings for him.

Sometimes people do that; they miss the opportunity to tell someone they love them. Once they are gone, you can't turn the clock back.

So put your heart in charge; speak your mind. Tell him you love him and what an impact he has made on you and your life.

Our author brings us a piece about the elderly and the homeless.
Feeling compassion for someone standing in the cold needing money or food is not pleasant to see or to be doing.

So many will walk on by but others will help. Those that help are saddened by the situation.

Our author mentions how we should listen more to the elderly. Maybe even learn something. Maybe what they say will make us feel happy. Give them a chance to bring you some sunshine on a rainy rainy day.
Come on start that domino parade with just one smile. Let them know they still count and are not forgotten.

Thank you for sharing and caring.
