It starts out a night with an impending snow storm on it's way.

The TV soon turns to static. The phones won't let you dial out.

As the snow collects it takes down some electrical poles.

Now there is no electricity and house becomes more and more cold.

All they want is the static now.

Some warmth.

Sure makes a person appreciate what they have.

Once it's gone, you are going down stream without a paddle.

Thank you for sharing.

This piece takes a look at how time passes before you know it.

When young, you have limitless possibilities.

When midlife hits, you have a bit of regret that those dreams where put in a drawer.

Then as a older person, you wonder where the time went.

Sometimes you might even feel you have wasted the time you were given.

But did you leave good memories with your loved ones?

Will they remember you in the soft gentle breeze of a summer evening?

Will they remember the guidance you gave from love?

Most of all, will they hear you say you love them in the quiet of the night?

Thank you for sharing.

A woman meets a man on the dance floor.

She begins to warn him about falling for her.

She is complex and has been hurt badly.

She leaves broken hearted men in her wake.

She doesn't appear to be regretful either.

She knows he needs a soft hearted woman that will love him back but that's not her.

She is cold, stormy, vast as the ocean, a nor' easter on two legs.

She urges him to back off for his own good.

She holds to much pain to find a place to keep love.

Thank you for sharing.

Our author reminds us that death is a fact of life.

It will come in many forms.

It will take who it chooses.

The bodies all end up underground.

There is no way to fight it or escape it.

When it's your time that's it.

Some loose their life in war; at least they can't be hurt anymore.

Even children go this way, underground to stay.

Thank you for sharing.

She is a young girl and life has dished out a lot of pain and disappointment.

She is beginning to pull away and apparently a friend is noticing.

It shows in her eyes.

As time passes the girl becomes hardened to the world and isolates herself from others because of lack of trust.

She is angry inside and bitter at the things she has seen and heard.

She cries inside and the other person that understands her is her friend.

The friend is trying to reach the girl with comfort and genuine concern.

Caring by showing that there is a hug available and a kiss to warm her cold cold heart, listening ears and a shoulder to cry on.

Thank you for sharing.
Very good piece.
Full of emotions.

A sweet and tender piece.

They meet for their special time together.

They are in their secret place.

Their love will soon transform it into a magical place where their love will bloom.

It is precious, this time they share, and goes way to soon.

As they part they know that when night falls, their hearts will carry the memory in their dreams.

Thank you for sharing.

What an adorable tribute to WDC.

The balloons says it's party time.

The little bear says peek-a-boo.

As far as feeling this site is a home away from home; so many of us feel the same way.

The font colors just add to the piece.

Finding the most precious thing, friendship.

I LIKE THIS.

Imagine a friend, lets say, who seems lost and alone.
What would you do? You would offer that friend encouragement.

Suppose this friend told you that their heart has given up.
What would you do? Wouldn't you reassure them they are important and loved by many and that there is so much living to do.

During this talk and act of kindness; your friend seemed to feel less confused. Even felt a bit of value and even that the friend could contribute.

Now, how could the friend repay this new found gratitude.
That's what is so special about friendship, repay doesn't come into the equation.

It is done out of love and concern.

Could one always remember when the darkness was all around, there was a voice that lead to the light?

Thank you for sharing and caring.

This is a beautiful prayer.

Bringing warmth and hope for peace.

We have to pray to Him and know that he will answer.
He works on His own time.

This piece addresses the chaos we deal with daily.

It asks that He brings light to overcome the darkness that sometimes surrounds us.

Notice, the positive thoughts.

Notice, the prayer is humble and moving.

Notice, the prayer asks for His guiding light.

Thank you for sharing this and caring about your fellow man.

She was in her sleeping bed, as he called it, looking different.

Still he loved her.

It would be his turn soon to view her.

Being young, it seems this character doesn't quite understand the finality of the situation.

He moves forward, bends to kiss her goodbye and places his teddy bear in her casket.

His final thoughts is his mommy is gone.

Sad piece.

She has to accept the fact it's over.

She doesn't want to hear those love songs because they simply aren't true.

She has cried and be disappointed in her man.

He has done things that have hurt her and made their relationship fall apart.

She knows, words won't fix anything.

They won't change anything either.

She simply can't trust him ever again.

She has to take charge of her life and find a better way.

After reading the other piece it is obvious the couple doesn't like mail.

This one is about a piece of mail that absolutely terrified them.

Each again refusing to open it because they know what is in it.

There it sat.

Now it was time to decide who would do the talking as it was delivered to the family member.

Actually, most parent can relate to this situation.

It's like the floor fell away from their feet.

Suspended in midair were they when the subject arrives.

Full of excitement was she.

Full of dread was mom and pop.

Thank you for the laughs.

Two doctors discuss the patient behind the two way mirror.

This man is suspected of killing his wife with a knife.

They had physical evidence but they needed a diagnosis.

One doctor thinks the prisoner is playing a game.

The other doctor isn't so sure of that.

They are running out of time before court.

Finally a rather frightening reaction came from the other side of the mirror.

Could they be dealing with a split personality?

Maybe it is a good job of acting?

Thank you for sharing.
The story came together well.
Ending came as a surprise.

It was a group on vacation and the character wasn't all the horse smart.

Climbing upon the horse didn't seem to big a deal.

The horse was a bit of a challenge as they went along.

Taking our character out of the herd and getting him slammed against a tree and landed in a muddy place was not good.

Well, that ticked off our character. He had had it.

Time to tell off the horse.

So, picture if you will, a muddy rider having a heart to heart talk with a horse.

After that talk the horse had respect for the character and vice versa.

Thank you for sharing.

A young man is visited by an old school mate this one evening.

They talked like old times.

Teased each other a bit.

Our character is concerned about the friend and how he is doing.

The friend says he likes where he is and not to worry.

It is sad that the friends parents couldn't be here tonight.

This night gave him a bit of closer.

As they walked the old halls it became time for him to go.

Good ending but sad.

Thank you for sharing.

He was alone and in the middle of going through another persons home.

It had been abandoned long ago.

He thinks he has found some coffee. What a treat.

Even sweet sugar and milk brought a sense of normalcy.

Then a loud bang sent him outside to check the noise.

It turned out to be a dog stealing his jerky.

Apparently one of the few remaining creatures residing in the city.

Will our world really come to that?

Thank you for sharing.

Our author brings us a glimpse of nature this evening.

An ordinary dandelion that seems to go unnoticed for it's simplicity and beauty.

Remember blowing all the little blossoms around when young?

Adults consider them a weed and should be done away with.

Usually, if one is seen in the yard, it's time to mow.

Our author is reflecting on how despite their beauty and innocence, they are less than desirable.

Unfortunately our character seems to identify with the dandelion.

What ever good, beauty, compassion shown is overlooked.

Thank you for sharing.

She was confused with her situation.

Then she quickly understood.

There is only One that she truly can depend on.

Only One to show and guide the winding path of life.

She is a wife and mother.

The relationship has gone on for a while.

They created a foundation for their home but yet she feels a nagging loneliness.

What is troubling her?

What is she missing?

She believes if she were to find another man it would solve her problem.

Would it though?

She would be adding infidelity into the marriage which would erode the foundation.

She would begin lying to her family.

That's not really her.

She is depressed, like a part of her is missing.

Maybe she married too young.

Maybe she gave up some of her dreams for her
children's care.

She knows the problem is in her.

She doesn't blame her husband or children.

She just needs to figure out why, even with all she has, why she feels alone.

Thank you for sharing this complex topic.

Our author brings the complexity of writing poetry.
Actually calling it chaos.

The objective here is to find the clarity and bring about the essence of the emotions.

Expressing the work as smooth as silk yet capturing the reader between the lines.

Granted it is not easy. Who's to say how we write?

Are we not allowed to write what we feel?

Should we cut and edit until the work is no longer ours?

Each piece of our work is part of us.

Can we not reflect that freely in our work?

Thank you for sharing.

One would think, in this day and time, that a recently deceased fly that occupies a mans head isn't of concern.

Just because they killed it with chemicals doesn't mean it needs to stay there.

Are we seriously waiting until it is to be mounted on the outside of his dead head for study?

Or better yet is the doctor afraid of flies and the man will become another mutant?

Thank you for sharing and the laughs

She feels like no matter how she dresses or presents herself, she will still be ordinary.
Calling herself a dancing monkey is sad to this reader.
She wants to be validated and finally fit into the spotlight.
Then what next?
She considers herself nothing.
Not even worth being noticed.
She feels as though she is a waste of time.

Now lets look at this in a different light.
She is special in her own way.
She has been blessed by God's own hands.
She is important to God and important to others.
Does she matter?
Can she share her gifts with others?
Can she begin to love herself and then love others?
The spotlight, she speaks off, is created by man.
The spotlight, or guiding light wakes her every morning with the dawn.
She will one day find that gift to be filled with limitless possibilities.

Thank you for sharing.

She knew what she wanted and went rapidly down the isle.

Were there casualties left in her wake? Perhaps.

This was Black Friday and we all know what happens then.

Waiting for the doors to open at an extremely early hour to be first.

Those advertised temptation items were waiting for those brave and fast enough to reach them.

Then the surprising ending.

It hard to be the one left behind. The relationship fell apart.

Nothings is worse than being played by a master player. Just the right words, actions and lies.

Then you realize you are one of many left in the wake of this betrayer.

There is loneliness and abandonment felt.
There are questions and yet full knowledge of what a pretender is.

It might take a while before trust is given again.
