STAR TREK/STAR WARS II
THE CONFLICT RENEWS

A black modified Corellian Corvette shot away from Kevrex. It sped toward a hollow moon. A black robed Chiss turned to the like-hooded human. “My apprentice, when we reach the moon, take your shuttle and go immediately to our asteroid base on the fringe of the Unknown Regions. There, one of my other students, Lord Scorpios will inform you what I want you to do.”
“Yes, Master Spectrus,”
“Lord, Spectrus, we have detected a ship tailing us. We identified it as Millennium Falcon.”
“Deactivate all troops on the Battle Sphere. My apprentice, you are ready for your first assignment. I hereby bestow upon you the name, Darth Kratak. There was a Yuuzhan Vong warship by that name. It was Warmaster Tsavong Lah’s flagship when he conquered Coruscant. May you be a strong warrior.”
“Now. I wish you to go to Traklen Base and take charge of the droid operation. There is also an emissary I wish you to meet.”
“Yes, Master,”
“Jegt and I will deal with what we have to here, then we will join you at Traklen, May the Dark Side of the Force be with you,”
“And with you, Master,”

Lord Darth Kratak reclined in the Lambda shuttle as it sped away from Kevrex. The final flames of the battle sputtered out.
Suddenly, a massive disturbance blared through Kratak’s mind. A scream through the force, slammed Kratak to the ground.
“Sir!” the pilot of the shuttle said. “The moon just exploded!”
Kratak collapsed back onto the bench of the shuttle, exhausted by the force trauma of his Master’s sudden death.
As he recovered from the shock he heard a voice in his head, Destroy the Jedi! Destroy all non-Force life! DESTROY!
As Lord Spectrus’s death plea shot through the force to Kratak, his anger swelled. He leaned back, closed his eyes, and opened himself to the depths of the force; the dark depths, the cold raw power of the force.

The Lambda shuttle soared into the Traklen Asteroid Belt in an uncharted system deep in the Unknown Regions. The name of the belt was derived from the name designated for the base located deep within the asteroids.
The shuttle rounded a large asteroid, and Traklen lay before them. A large asteroid, approximately 20 kilometers in diameter and roughly spherical filled the viewport. Hundreds of towers and docking ports protruded from the rock in dorsal and ventral directions. The shuttle soared over a circular Trade Federation battleship and under two Victory class Star Destroyers into a regular sized hangar above a massive hangar that housed four Banking Clan Frigates.
Kratak briskly walked down the ramp and to the nearest turbolift. When the lift stopped, it was near the top of the tallest dorsal tower of the asteroid. He walked into a room with a large circular window gazing out over one side of Traklen. There, in the window, a cloaked figure turned.
“Ah, Spectrus’s apprentice,”
“That is Lord Kratak to you, Overseer Yammka. Spectrus was killed at Kevrex. I am in charge now,”
“Well?”
“Is there something that needs to be done?”
“A certain sick someone,”
“Overseer, Scorpios is being loaded even now,”
“It’s all good then,”
“Overseer, I wish you to join me on my flagship as a military advisor,”
“I would be happy to assist you, my lord,” Yammka threw back his hood, revealing the snarling face of a Yuuzhan Vong warrior.
“Then let’s get Scorpios to the Imperium for the procedure,”

The Lambda class shuttle exited the known galaxy and sped toward a star cluster outside the galaxy. The shuttle began transmitting codes into the depths of the Ssi-Ruuk Imperium.
“Lord Kratak, codes accepted by Imperium Listening post 34.”
“Very well, proceed,”

A lone Ssi-Ruuvi cruiser met the shuttle in deep space. Lord Kratak, Overseer Yammka, and two super battle droids disembarked, followed by two medical droids with a biobed with a near-dead man suffering from Traveler’s Death, a disease of the Milkyway Galaxy that had been introduced accidentally into the SW Galaxy. A host of saurian brutes with paddlebeamer weapons flanked a Ssi-Ruuvi officer.
[Is the patient ready?] The officer asked in the Ssi-Ruuvi language of whistle and flute sounds.
“He is ready,”
The Ssi-Ruuvi warriors carrier the biobed out of the bay into the interiors of the ship.
“I hope the entechment goes well,” Yammka said.”
“It will,” Kratak said.

Several hours later, the blast doors to the hangar bay opened and a droid leaped through. “Ah, Lord Kratak. How might I serve you?” The droid bounded up and bowed.
“I see the entechment was a success, General Scorpios.”
“Yes, the droid body built like… oh what was the name of that Clone Wars general?”
“General Grievous,”
“Yes, Grievous. Anyway, this body modeled after his is most satisfactory,”
“If there are no demands, we can be on our way,” Kratak said. He walked to the shuttle followed by Yammka. Scorpios, now enteched in his Grievous look-alike body, followed as well.

A strange looking gray air tram soared over the cityscape of the majestic capital city of the planet Alemarenvelt. Towers, buildings with hanging gardens, and high rises with glass and transparisteel walls reflected the bright light from Alemarenvelt’s sun. Airspeeders and other trams crisscrossed the skies along with bulk transports and light freighters. The tram flew toward a large circular field about a kilometer across that rested in the center of the city.
In the center of the field was a massive building of light gray concrete, the main entrance surrounded by large cylindrical pillars. The tram touched down on a designated pad near the entrance. A dark gray uniformed officer stepped out, glistening black boots clicking together as he saluted the officer waiting at the edge of the station.
{Glad to see you, Field Marshal von Kleist,} the officer waiting at the end of the pad said. Instead of human, like von Kleist, this officer was light gray skinned, with a bone ridge running from between his eyes over his head to the bottom of his neck.
{It is good to be back, Kolad} von Kleist said.
The two officers walked up the long concrete staircase to the entrance.
{Any idea what this meeting is about, Johannes?}
{Apparently, von Kluge and Premier Stratzwitz have something up their sleeve.}
{Another SS operation?}
{Actually, I have a pretty good idea,}
{What?}
{Military buildup and a treaty with a dark “wizard” or something to that affect. Whatever happens, the Reich will be made known to the rest of the galaxy a lot sooner than the ten years hoped for.} With that the officers entered the government building of the Alemaren Reich.

General Scorpios walked around the conference table to the holoprojectors. “Our prospective ally, the Alemaren Reich has control of a couple thousand uncharted systems in the Unknown Regions, opposite the Galactic Core from Coruscant. Lord Spectrus was already in talks with them before the outbreak of the recent war. That is why he chose to build his base near this area.”
“The Reich, ironically has some of its origins in the Milkyway Galaxy. I reviewed its history. The Premier of the Reich is Human. Humans in the Milkyway come from Earth. In Earth year 1944, a country called Germany was nearing defeat in a planetary war. They launched a rocket with three humans onboard into space. The men died during launch and the rocket spun wildly through the cosmos, caught by wormholes, propelled into hyperspace, and basically lost, until it was discovered in the Alemarens’ home galaxy. They were cloned by the Alemarens, then the Alemari, and now, of course, one leads the Reich. The other two hold senior military positions.”
“The major language of the Reich is German, introduced by the humans. Premier Stratwitz governs through a fascist style government, though he does not believe in racism or cruelty such as Federation history tells us that the leaders of the Germans were.”
“They have massive construction facilities, and have begun production on a massive flagship. It would benefit us greatly to have them as an ally.” Scorpios finished his rundown on the Alemaren Reich.
“General, you say the Alemarens’ home galaxy?”
“Yes,” Scorpios continued in his guttural voice. “Their home galaxy did not provide much in the way of resources. There were few inhabitable planets and few resource rich worlds or asteroids. They found a wormhole to this galaxy. The location of that wormhole has been kept secret from all outsiders.”
“Then let us pursue a more friendly relation with the Alemaren Reich.” Lord Kratak said. “I call this meeting adjourned.”

THREE YEARS LATER

A Corellian Action VI transport glided across the snowy white surface of a frozen world known only as P-5, the fifth planet in an unnamed system, but a system that had particular interest for the passengers aboard the transport.
Luke Skywalker watched through the Wild Karrde’s viewport. “So what exactly are we looking for?” a voice came from behind him.
“Some connection between the Corporate Sector and the new guild alliance. The whole idea of a unified commerce guild smells of CSA influence.” Luke said to Talon Karrde.
“And I also suppose that if it turns out to be true it will be viewed as a threat?”
“Sometimes the Senate gets rather jumpy but in this case, a unified commerce faction would cut out trading competition…”
Karrde interrupted. “Which means that they could charge one high price for services and cause trade gouging all over the galaxy.”
“Karrde, are you sure your not force-sensitive?” Luke said.
Karrde grinned. “It does seem that way, doesn’t it. By the way, isn’t Bel Iblis supposed to be here by now?”
“As for that, Capt’n,” Dankin said from the pilot station. “A Katana class dreadnaught appears to be docked on the far side of the spaceport.” The pilot gestured toward the array of buildings on the edge of a small city.
“That’s his ship all right. Matched the ID he said he would have.” Luke said. He tapped his comm. “Mara, we’re getting ready to land. Get Artoo and meet us at the ramp.”
“Okay, Luke,” Mara Jade Skywalker responded.
“Luke?” Karrde queried. “What kind of ID could he use to explain a military upgraded dreadnaught?”
“I asked him that. He said “don’t ask”,”
They watched as the ship touched down on its designated landing area. They made they way to the landing ramp.
“Ready?” Mara, wearing a white parka of light material, asked the two of them.
“Sure. Where are we supposed to meet Garm?” Luke asked.
“A tapcafe called The Deep Freeze.”
“Some one sure came up with an original name,” Karrde huffed.
“Well, let’s go.” Luke said as he and Karrde fastened up their light parkas.
The landing ramp lowered. And Karrde followed the Skywalkers and R2-D2 out into the cold air of P-5. Artoo blurted a series of beeps.
Luke, guessing at the content, said, “It’s cold for all of us, Artoo.”
“Yeah, but it might heat up real fast,” Karrde said with a groan.
They gazed upward as the sound of giant repulsiors washed over the spaceport. Luke whistled. “That’s an old Trade Federation battleship’s coreball.”
“I guess we can wrap it up concerning whether there are ties between the commerce guild alliance and the Corporate Sec.” Mara growled. “See,” She now pointed at a Corporate Sector GX12 Hovervan speeding out to where the massive sphere had landed. Six X10 Groundcruisers and a dozen speeder bikes sped along side the Hovervan.
“Must be someone important to rate that big an escort.” Karrde speculated.
Luke spoke up. “Mara, you and Karrde go meet with Bel Iblis. I’ll stay here and play spy with Artoo.”
“Luke?” Mara had that nervous look on her face.
“Don’t worry, Mara, Artoo will take care of me,” he grinned. Artoo blatted out a succinct opinion of Luke’s comment. “Now, Artoo, what would Threepio say if he heard you weren’t sure of your own abilities?”
Artoo whistled and swiveled his dome back and forth. “Luke, that was unfair,” Mara said but smiled at the sounds the now indignant droid was making.
“You two go find Garm,” Luke said. “Come on, Artoo,” Luke turned and began making his way toward the place where the coreball was landed in a casual sort of way.
Luke slowly slipped along a wall toward the nearest Corp. Sec. Guard. A quick Force-enhanced jump brought him to the roof of the building. Out came his macro binoculars and he focused them on the waiting Hovervan. He nearly dropped them as he recognized who the Corporate Sector dignitary really was. The new Prex. Vrallax if he remembered the news vids correctly.
The lowest ramp of the coreball dropped and a robed Neimiodian sauntered down followed by a black robed figure with a hooded head.
He almost dropped the binoculars again when he also recognized the Neimiodian. Remembering him from the news vids also, he was Qu Xarron, the Viceroy of the New Trade Federation, one of the member corporations of the new guild alliance.
No question existed in Luke’s mind now that something underhanded was definitely afoot between the CSA and the guilds.
He was about ready to quietly leave when his danger sense tingled. He twisted around onto his back and the lightsaber was in his hand a second later. Two Corporate Sector Security guards ran toward him, firing low power blasts from their Tenloss disruptor rifles. Luke rolled out of the way and with an outstretched hand, his invisible Force grip yanked the weapons out of their hands toward him. He sliced the weapons in half with the green energy of his lightsaber.
The next instant he was off the roof and landed beside a bewildered Artoo. “Come on,” He called to the droid. The whine of repulsiors reached him a split second after he detected their approach. Two Corporate Sec. speeder bikes zipped around the corner. They spotted Luke quickly and changed their vectors, the lasers spitting out energy. Then Luke’s vision was nothing but flame and smoke.
It took a minute for the smoke to clear, but when it did, Luke saw two smoldering speeder bikes with their drivers lying near them. He also saw the unit of Imperial Stormtroopers that had been hiding in the Wild Karrde had the Prex, Viceroy, and the rest of the guards encircled.
Luke walked toward the party. Amazingly, both speeder bike drivers were merely stunned and were now rising to their feet.
“Master Skywalker, is everything under control?” the Imperial unit leader asked.
“Yes, quite,” Luke said to the white armored trooper. The trooper had an officer’s pauldron on his shoulder and carried a Golan Arms Flechette weapon.
The Prex of the Corporate Sector yelled from the landing area. “Master Jedi! I would like an explanation of this outrage!”
Luke walked over to the pad. “I think an explanation of this apparent summit between you and Viceroy Xarron takes precedence.” Luke casually said.
“An innocent meeting over an apparent case of spying? Come now, Skywalker,”
“No one was hurt.” Luke said. “I think we can forget this incident in the interest of galactic stability.”
“Indeed,” Prex Vrallax said. “But I can make that decision without help from your mind tricks. However, I will forget the matter.”
“He might, but I am taking it to the Senate,” Viceroy Qu Xarron blurted.
“Viceroy, we can forget it this once,” Vrallax soothed. “Remember our little bargain?”
“Yes,” Xarron said reluctantly. Though what that bargain was, Luke couldn’t get it out of either of their minds, and as for the figure robed in black, he could only read a firm determination and coldness from that one.
“All right, lieutenant,” Luke turned and began to walk away. “We can return to the ship.”

Vrallax watched the Jedi and the Snowtroopers walk away. “Excellent performance,” a cold, deep, guttural voice emanated from the mysterious figure in the black robes. “But in the future, teach your protégés,” At this he looked at the Viceroy. “To calmly keep their mouths shut,”
“Yes, my Lord,” Vrallax assured.
“I must contact my master,” the robed figure said. He turned and walked back into the coreball.

The robed figure made his way to his quarters within the coreball and activated the holopad. A minute later, a likewise hooded figure appeared in the hazy blue of the hologram field. The first figure lowered his hood revealing a snarling, scarred, visage. “I trust the meeting went well, Lord Yammka?” the holo spoke.
“Master Kratak, the hoped for objectives were accomplished,” the scarred figure replied.
“You do not seem extremely confident with your statement,”
“The Jedi Luke Skywalker showed up at the meeting. The ship he came in was identified as the Wild Karrde.”
“Was it now. Does he know about the merger between the Guild Alliance and the Corporate Sector?”
“No. He knows something is going on, but he has no proof,”
“Be wary. If he came with Talon Karrde, that means that not only he is suspicious.”
“One other thing, my Master. A Katana class dreadnaught registered under a civilian ID was also docked there.”
“So,” Kratak’s hologram said.
“Some operatives identified one of its passengers. It was Garm Bel Iblis.”
“So the Alliance military is suspicious too. I recommend moving the Prex and the Viceroy to Cato Neimiodia so there is less likely a chance our operation on P-5 will be discovered. And contact General Scorpios’s flagship. Have him take some ships and ambush the Wild Karrde just out from Taanab. Capture it intact, I want Karrde alive. They will use the Perlemian Hyperspace lane. It is the quickest back to Coruscant, and with no hostilities at the moment, they will not be trying to avoid anyone.”
“Yes, Master. It will be done,” With that the hologram vanished and Darth Yammka was alone in his quarters.

General Garm Bel Iblis gazed at Luke. “This may complicate things. Even though they may not tell, it probably will still get back to Coruscant,”
“I’m sorry, Garm,”
“Don’t worry. Senator Rodan can’t pull to much out of this to use politically against the Jedi or President Omas.” Bel Iblis referred to Senator Fyor Rodan, leader of the political opposition to the New Jedi Order and opponent of current Chief of State Cal Omas.
“General,” Karrde asked. “Can we still report what we saw without retribution by the Guild?”
“You can, Karrde. You are not an official Alliance officer or liaison.”
“I was afraid you were going to say that,”
“See you on Coruscant, Karrde,”
“Yeah. Come on Luke and Mara, you got me into this. Your coming to support me,”
“Of course we will,” Mara soothed.
Karrde just stared at her, a scowl appearing on his face. Luke and Mara just laughed.
The Wild Karrde was soon making for space, and set a hyperspace course along the Perlemian Trade Route. The ship vanished to hyperspace with a flicker of psuedomotion.

Across the lightyears between galaxies, near a beautiful, lush planet that hid the horrors it had seen, the USS Defiant cruised away from Bajor toward Deep Space Nine. Docked at one of the arms was a massive Dominion dreadnaught, blue warp field grids standing out against the dark purple and black hull.
On the bridge of the Defiant, Benjamin Sisko stood. “Well, let’s prepare to meet them,”
“Any idea what they want?” Lt. Commander Ezri Dax asked.
“I don’t know. There hasn’t been any contact with the Dominion for three years. Ever since Odo went back to Dominion space after the Intergalactic War.” Captain Sisko said. The ship docked at the station and the crew disembarked.
Captain Sisko took the lifts to ops and entered his office. He froze.
“Hello, Captain” a strangely familiar face greeted him.
“I must say, Captain Sisko, you haven’t done much in redecorating since the last time I was here.” The other voice caused Sisko to turn his head, and he raised his eyebrows just a little when he saw who the second one was.
“Weyoun, shut up,” Odo said as he stepped forward toward Sisko.
“The Founder is wise,” Weyoun said, backing away and bowing to Odo.
“Founder?” Sisko said. “So. The changeling I once commanded is now one of the most powerful beings in the Dominion.”
“Since I have had a lot of experience with the Federation, I was selected to be one of the top “Founders” as far as active roles in the Dominion go.”
“Any particular reason for the visit, Odo?”
“Just a visit. I have some scores to settle with a certain Ferengi, and if you help me, I think it can be done in one sitting,”
“Of course. Let’s go see Quark,”

Quark was cleaning a large cup when Sisko came walking up. “Ah, Captain, what can I get you?” the Ferengi asked.
“Nothing. I want to ask you about this “operation” you have going. You know, the reports about transmissions between you and Ferenginar.”
Quark immediately put down the cup. “It was legitimate. I was conversing with the Nagus,”
“Oh, and I suppose the Nagus never gets into any underhanded schemes?”
Quark began stuttering. Odo, meanwhile, had slipped up behind Quark and silently moved the cup he had been cleaning aside and began to morph into the shape of the cup, in the exact position Quark had left the other one.
“I guess it could be legitimate, Quark, but watch yourself,” Sisko walked off, and stopped as soon as Quark turned back to the bar. Quark picked up the cup and began cleaning.
“I don’t need a bath, Quark,” the cup said and it began to liquidize and reshape.
Quark dropped the cup, and yelled. “ROM! Get over here! Save me!”
“Are you that afraid of me?” Odo said as he took shape back into humanoid form.
Quark stared wide eyed. “What is it, brother!” Rom said. “Oh, hello, Odo. How are you?”
“Fine, Rom. Your brother doesn’t share that opinion however.”
“Captain Sisko distracted me, didn’t he? Just so you could scare the lobes off my ears.”
Odo just smiled.

Captain Sisko sat back down in his chair. His comm badge chirped. “Yes?”
“Captain, message coming in from Starfleet Command.”
“Put it through,” Sisko activated his terminal.
“Captain,” Admiral William Ross came on the screen.
“Admiral, how may I help?”
“We need you to come to Earth. We have a diplomatic problem with the Imperial Remnant on hand.”
“Let me guess, the incident at Kevrex?”
“Yes, we are going to have to prosecute, between the Alliance’s demands for action, and pressure from several key members of the CNC board, there will be a trial.”
“And since I am a key witness I need to testify.”
“Correct,”
“I will begin a trip to Earth immediately.” Sisko said. He deactivated the terminal and headed for the Defiant.

The main courtroom of the Starfleet JAG division was full of spectators, most of them visitors from the Imperial Remnant. One was Grand Admiral Pellaeon himself.
JAG official Captain Drackson was presiding over the proceedings. “Bring in the accused,”
The Starfleet security personnel, armed with compression rifles, opened the rear door of the chamber. Two guards walked in with Commander Daniel Dollison.
“This trial is to determine whether or not the incident that occurred at the Battle of Kevrex three years ago could have been avoided and if the captain and crew of the starship USS Comanche are indeed responsible for the deaths of 10,000 Imperial personnel after their surrender.” Captain Drackson said.
“We will here the charges against the accused. Admiral Dollison, if you would proceed.”
Admiral Nathan Dollison, one of the CNC members behind the accusations, stood. Ironically, the defendant was his brother, who had never really impressed the admiralty with his command abilities to begin with.
“The charges against the defendant are failure to heed standing orders and failure to properly assess a chaotic situation before acting. He is also sighted with incompetence in battle.”
“Could you elaborate, Admiral?” Drackson asked.
“He had been assigned to the planet Polacki, after it was secured by a task force led by myself. He commanded several ships. While the allied armada was preparing to attack Kevrex, Polacki was attacked by two D’deridex class Warbirds, which, were no match for Captain Dollison’s ships. For some reason that he has yet to tell us, he retreated when his smallest ship was destroyed.”
“He then took his ships through the intergalactic wormhole IW-01 without contacting a superior officer or Starfleet Command for instructions. He took his ships straight to Kevrex. Upon arriving, he did not contact a fleet commander to find out where he should go or what the situation was, he just fired on the first ship he saw that was registered as an enemy.”
“Is there proof of this?” Drackson asked.
“We have the sensor logs of at least twenty ships that were in the area, including the ones from the Comanche and his other ships.”
Admiral Dollison played the records on the large screen. They all depicted several ships exiting warp and immediately firing on an Imperial Star Destroyer. Then the witnesses, including Admiral Jean-Luc Picard, Grand Admiral Pellaeon, and Captain Sisko testified.
“Does the defense have any proof or evidence to contradict what we have seen?” Drackson inquired.
“Well, Your Honor…”
“Yes or No.”
“No, Your Honor,”
“Does the defendant wish to testify?”
“Yes,”
“Say what you wish,” Drackson instructed.
“I will not allow myself to be battered around and played with by these nuts!” Commander Dollison said strongly.
At the word “nuts”, surprise and shock rippled across the room. “Commander Dollison, any more such outburst and I will hold you in contempt of this court. Mr. Soldek, do you have anymore to say before the Judge Advocate Counsel decides on a verdict.”

After several minutes, Drackson came out of the deliberation room. “Commander Dollison, we find you guilty of the charges. You sentence will be an assignment as a Colonel in the militia defense force of the independent colony of Corsica. A cargo ship carrying a new load of colonists from Alpha Proxima will provide you with transport to Corsica.”

Councilor Soldek walked out of the JAG council chambers. A humanoid with a long maroon cloak joined him. “Well?”
“I was unable to avert Commander Dollison from sentence and transfer. There will always be other officers to do favors for, besides, after seeing the evidence, I’m not so sure he would be a good officer to badger into joining my little scheme.”
“Agent Kardek is waiting at the office,”
“Let’s begin planning our little operation,”
“Yes, Agent Kardek has a ship waiting under cloak in the asteroid belt.”
“Excellent,”

Talon Karrde put down his cards. Mara grinned. “Sabaac,” She said as she put her cards down.
“You know, Mara, I should have you play sabaac against Han or Lando. Could really stir things up,”
“Yeah, play for the Falcon and Lady Luck,” Luke said from the side.
“After all the sabaac games they have been through, they wouldn’t risk their ships in a million years,” Karrde huffed.
“I think we had better figure out exactly how we are going to tell this to the Senate,”
“Okay, let’s just do…” the ship shuddered and the three were thrown to the floor.
“Capt’n,” Danin called over the intercom. “An interdictor cruiser has pulled us out of hyperspace, registers as Corporate Sector. We have three Recusant class destroyers closing on us.”
“Recusant class. Haven’t seen those since the Clone Wars.” Karrde said.

When they arrived on the bridge, Karrde assessed the tactical situation. The three Recusant destroyers were closing fast. The klaxon blared again. “Dankin?”
“Lucrehulk carrier, Trade Federation design, Sir,” The new arrival was of the class of ship that had blockaded Naboo and had served the fleets of the Confederacy many years ago
“Sithspit!” Karrde cursed.
The massive 3,000m diameter circular shaped ship had appeared just 10km away. Karrde hadn’t seen one of those since the Clone Wars either.
“We’re in a tractor beam,” The ship shook as the Recusant destroyers fired turbolaser blasts into the Wild Karrde.
“Corvis, Chin, Lachton, take the turbolasers,” Karrde ordered. He turned to Luke. “I want them to pay, but I suspect they will pull us in to the carrier if it has a tractor beam on us.”
“Turbolasers ready, Captain,”
“Fire at the Recusant class at 30 degrees port. All beams converge at coordinates 34.77.”
“Aknowledged,”
“Fire!” Karrde ordered.
Three twin bursts of energy shot into the target, punching through the shields and lacerating the dark hull. A second and third volley stitched more damage along the side of the cruiser and a small explosion denoted the destruction of a weapons emplacement.
Before a fourth volley could be blasted at the cruiser, one of the other Recusant class sent a powerful blast into the Corellian Action Transport.
“Weapons offline, they hit the generator,” Dankin said.
“So much for that. Get some techs back there.” Karrde said.
He gazed at the nearing maw of the old Trade Federation ship’s hangar, opening at the end of one of the circular arms. “Dankin, hit the call for backup,”
“Backup? What is this about backup?” Mara asked.
“Back on that ice world, we picked up a transmission directed at the coreball. All we got out of it was “Wild Karrde” so we prepared backup.”

Several systems from Tanaab, the battleship Scorpion’s Sting, a Providence class cruiser, better known as a Trade Federation cruiser, prepared to join the forces arrayed against the Wild Karrde.
“General,” the Neimoidian captain of the cruiser said to the cyborg standing at the bridge viewport. “We are ready to proceed,”
“Very well, Captain, proceed to the rendezvous.” Scorpios said in a deep modulated voice.
The battleship shot into hyperspace, ready to seal the Wild Karrde’s fate.
