A visual poem about a winter walk.

Soft white hibernation ---
         a landscape bereft  of vibrance,
         appears barren, forlorn.

I walk alone
         covered, yet not sufficiently warmed.
         Snow is falling.

All is still
         except for the predictable crunch
         beneath my boots.

The faint howl
         of a solitary, persistent hound
         confronts the silence.

My pace quickens,
         emerging darkness hurries me home
         for comfort, warmth.
