Skin Deep


This darkness creeps in every corner
And through every door
And I am black
Like I have never been before.

In an empty room
Where these things cannot be
I am spiraling
In to this bleeding sea

Let me rest in silence
Where the wolves can't play
From this jaded prison
I must escape some way.

And I hear angels calling
From the mountainside
Where crystal skies shine bright
And unicorns will ride.

I see the tears of those
Who never understood
Whilst I was drowning
In this never ending flood.

The eyes that search my skin
To see the hidden scars
Won't stare when I shall rest
In my place between the stars.

When I am cherry trees
And crashing ocean waves;
I'll smile in peace
When you will all be slaves.
