No Up or Down

Why the world cannot be 'perfect'- the reasons we all suffer

No one wants to face
The heart ache of reality
That there are sad endings
And long or broken journeys

And no one thinks that anger
Has a place in the world
That war is without reason
And that our cries remain unheard

But if everything is positive
And everybody sound
And if we were always up
Which way would be down?

And if these unhappy people
Had all the things they need
There'd be nothing left to strive for
And no one would be lucky

Emotion would be bland
And passion would simply drown
And this unbalanced world we're in
Would have no up or down.
