Written for my mother shortly after my father died of Alzheimer's |
| For Mom The wind blows free in the cloudy sky. The pine trees bend and sway. And in the west the sun goes down At the end of this lonely day. The night creeps in and fills my dreams With a love that's long since past. And 'tho it hurts I'll always know That this heart-felt pain won't last. The new day comes in a blaze of sun. The wind is quiet and still. And morning brings new hope, new life. As the sun comes over the hill. And once again I feel the touch Of a kind and loving hand. And know that God is with me still. And once more life is grand. |
