Happiness

A poem about being truly happy.

I’m on top of the world
Higher then ever before
I’m coming to love this feeling
I want to feel this once more.

I’ve never felt so happy
Or so filled with relief.
It’s nice to feel something
Finally other then grief.

It’s funny how fast
A feeling can change.
I love this feeling
But it really feels strange.

I’ve been so happy
Though it feels really good
But being THIS happy?
I never knew I even could.

In the past few months
I’ve been through a lot
The pains of sadness
Would hit me like a slingshot

But now I’ve become stronger
And turned it around
I’m now feeling happy
And no longer down.

True happiness is something
That is always really rare
But now I’ve come to realize
Life CAN be unfair.

But I’ve learned to overlook that
And be happy with what I’ve got
And now I’ve come to realize
I HAVE been through a lot.

But now I’ve overcome that
And begun my life anew.
I’m glad I feel so happy
And I’m no longer feeling blue.
