Overtones with images not for children. There are cellos and there are cello players! |
| Cello player Frenetic nerves jitter underneath the auburn hair. He jerks the cello bow across the strings with calloused fingers birthing Barber or the strains of Jupiter. I, would be his cello, feel his hand caress my wood, as fingers work my strings. I would not care how long his bow, how hard the pluck that brings forth music from my soul. My celestial song would only ask to croon along, my toneless heart responding to his touch and bow. Each savored pluck strung low, in duets private, soulful, slow. Kåre Enga © 2004 Catalogue number: [161.248] Note: for Austin of Tulsa. Barber wrote a cello concerto. 'Jupiter' from Holst's Suite of the Planets features the basoon (as jolly) and cello (as mellow). |
