A spiritual poem, influenced by Rumi's work.

Sometimes I’m joyful crazy full of you
Sip sweet emptiness and drink the wind
β€œDon’t sing so sad to me,” you said.
β€œLift your voice to the friend. Be joyful.”
Some sweet sad songs dripped from my lips
Until a time did pass
And
Sadness tore itself down
Caved in
And I sang joyful to the friend
β€œMy house of cards has tumbled down.
No need for sad songs
This life I hold is not mine
'Far be it that I should repine.’
When death delivers his half-somber kiss.
The last laugh will be on my lips.”
Not faith but surrender to my ignorance
Why you created me in this form I know not.
If you thought this form sweetness
And
Made this matrix.
Then I am happy to be your echo,
Bouncing across the rift,
In the stillness.
