Finger Lickin'

This was written just for fun. I needed a little levity in my life.

Break the bank
buy the chicken
pluck the feathers
finger pickin'.

Heat the oven
season the bird
cook 'em good
Yum's the word.

Peel the 'taters
boil the water
mash 'em good
'til thick like mortar.

Mix the gravy
in the pan
never use one
from the can.

Add a side dish
sage brush stuffin'
for desert
a blueberry muffin'.

Salad greens
tomatoes too
Cool Ranch dressing
just for you.

Biscuits bakin'
warm and toasted
chicken's done
golden roasted.

Set the table
nice clean linen
silverware, dishes
glasses gleamin'.

Open the napkin
on your lap
eat the dinner
then take a nap.
