Alone in the Light

This is basically what goes through my mind watching the news, hate crimes etc.

Alone in the light
She struggles to see
Why can't the rest
Understand what I mean?

I try to explain
What they don't want to hear
Is it lack of compassion?
Or is it just fear?

I see the walls rising
They don't understand
Their feelings aren’t real
They hate on demand

Yet people are tortured
By this blind rage
No thoughts of guilt,
Innocence or age.

They say that we're great
Man rules the lands
Yet we strangle each other
With our five fingered hands

There once was a time
When death gave me fear
But ignorance was bliss
I want out of here.
