Melancholy #1

Poem about sadness.

rain falls mercilessly from the sky
soothing sounds of mood music flood my ear
windy whispers speak of time gone by
my heart is heavy my eye holds back a tear
sadly surveying the world around
knowing all has happened before this time
feeling no more for none abound
discouraged in the age of my prime
cool breezes brush against my face
clouds take over the forlorn and misty sky
coldness pulls me near in chill embrace
my throat releases an unexpected cry
wordless thoughts with action-less deeds
pain emanates from every pore and vein
melancholy o’er my pain exceeds
as I watch the gently falling rain
