Once, only once in a lifetime,
A friend comes along
Who understands you completely
Gives you so unselfishly

Cares so deeply
A friend you can talk to
Confide your secrets to
Knows nothing can come between you.

Once, only once in a lifetime
A friend comes along
Who, by you is so dearly treasured
To whom, all your thoughts can be said

Who understands,
And always lends you her hand
What a world of simple pleasure!
What a lovely time we spent together!
