For Daddy, the love of my life

This morning I had a dream,
A joyful dream.
I dreamt I had a father.
I was his princess,
And he was my king.

This morning I had a dream,
A beautiful dream.
I dreamt I was with Daddy.
We were out on the lake together,
Just loving every moment.

This morning I had a dream,
A wonderful dream.
I dreamt of Christmas with Daddy.
He gave me a beautiful necklace,
And I couldn’t help but love him.

This morning I had a dream,
An awful dream.
I dreamt I turned my back on Daddy.
He tried to say Goodbye,
But I got in the car and left.

This morning I had a dream,
A horrible dream.
I dreamt I lost my Daddy.
He drowned in his sadness,
And took his own life.

This morning I remembered.
I remembered all the nightmares.

If only it had been a dream…
