Enigma!

This is for those of us who (I guess) go through life against the norm.

I am an enigma.
What you may ask is an enigma?
It is something/someone that belies
understanding and cannot be explained
something of a mystery
a puzzle...a riddle .
I am all this, or so I have been told
no one it seems understands me
why bother to even try
for in all actuality
it suits them best to just ignore
they don't want to bother or be bothered
with trying to understanding someone such as me.
I am perplexing at times
deep...complex, all words meaning the same.
I can be quiet, vague in action/reaction
I don't think inside the norm
let alone live within it
but then what is the norm and who is to say?
I am it seems bewildering to most
for no one understands us quiet folks
we tend to make them angry
perhaps our far off look might compel some
to wonder what we are thinking
but in no way would they approach
and ask what's on our minds
for this would take too much effort
so best just to let us be
for if they ignore us
we may just go away.
