The Light

Another poem.

She woke in the night
With a fright
Got out of bed
Rubbed the sleep from her head
She walked to the window
To look for the light

She opened the door
Crept onto the lawn
Slept there until dawn
Climbed a tree
To look for freedom
She opened her arms
Jumped from the top
She opened her eyes

As her feet hit the ground
She woke in the night
At the sound of a light
Followed the glare
And to her surprise

found herself.
