Who is the biggest idiot that keeps you back? The answer may surprise you.

Some idiot turned out the light,
         And left me in the dark
                   Without a board to write on,
                             Or way to make my mark...
And I blame them for my failure-
         Why I can't make things right!
                   It's frustrating, and awful cold
                             When someone turns out the light.

And I could sing out loud, I guess,
         And toss my blues away...
                   But what if I should stub my toe?
                             And I don't know the way!
Oh, what a cruel and evil thing,
         To leave it black as night!
                   It robs a man of all success,
                             When someone turns out the light.

And it might be change I don't want...
         Waltes I'm too scared to dance...
                   Pages I'm afraid to write down,
                             Songs that I don't want to chance...
I guess the dark's a grand excuse,
         And day is just too bright...
                   So I'll sit here, hand on the switch
                             From where I turned off the light.
