Everyone has things in their past they want to keep

My Treasure Chest

We each have something
all tucked away
special memories
which are there to stay.

Stored away snugley
in our treasure chest
things to remember
mostly the best.

Pictures, reminders
of times gone past
an old poem written
an old stone cast.

Days long gone
seldom brought back
and so more often
from memories lack.

Those little things
which meant so much
at a time when saving them
took a special touch.

My treasure chest
is here to stay
to keep my memories
from slipping away.
