An intense, rhythmic, imagistic poem expressing a negative view of coffee |
| Coffee Polystyrene stomach lining borders molten jet that broils, licking acid onto flimsy plastic dam. The cuckoo never ticks too early for insomnia- inducing oil greasing cogs that creak between ears that fear the day. Tarry sinking sand pulls deeper users’ fists that spew out note and coin until pitch spirals latch the offered limbs as anchor. Lactose bodies hauled from sacch’rine wrist dissolve with fervid grin and clutch at sand; they’re drowning eager at the bottom of the cup. |
