This is a poem I wrote, inspired by the story of Orpheus and the color blue. |
| There was once meaning, A reason to be, When the world softened to my tune And danced at my feet. Men and women alike Became entranced. The world was a playground In which I pranced. Wild creatures followed, And even the trees. Rocks too attended, And their hardness eased. There were no shadows, Only true blue, Even at night Black touched only few. Yet in the end, However clean, Came out of the blue, An enemy unseen. And all was for naught, Although I tried, Blackness overwhelmed And the light of blue died. Blindness was to blame. If only I knew, The world is only Painted in blue. |
