                   INDECENT PROPOSAL

Images of lovers past intrude upon the balm of sleep,
Nascent wisps of memory incite the flesh, entice the ear,
Dreams develop shape and form, bid twilight’s calm no more ado.
Eidolons of ebon night caress each throbbing fingertip,
Clinging to the glowing shaft, the striking hand bears strength of two;
Eager now, the frenzy grows as blood released but faster flows.
Nightmare ends, the blade grows dull, as Morpheus seeks Neptune’s sea
Tempered steel now silent keep, siren’s indecent proposal.
