It's about something we all eat. lol

I'm something sweet I'm something neat
You always eat me when you feel the heat.

I'm surrounded by something tan
Something that you hold in your hand.

I can be many flavors and many colors
I'm something that you share with others.

You might eat me by a town
or try to eat me upside down.

You might eat me by a stream
But I'll always be ice cream.
