Pompeii the Roman city buried beneath volcanic ash...

Trapped beneath volcanic ash
intense heat sears flesh from bone
yet I will never leave my home
my wife and kids lay dead in my bed
strangled by smoke- thick with sulpher
I wish I could have been their savior
taken them from the city
instead I chose to stay here
buried forever in our home
as the lava encases our bones
in the last days of Pompeii
