Words cannot rescue the captive heart if spoken too late.
In her castle, unguarded,
fair maiden;
she’s cast a word out her window
into the world.
She hopes she might get an answer...
from this stranger?

Blonde beauty, unheralded,
eyes like two bluebirds captured;
set them free on me!

She held her view,
but my eyes briefly fluttered away,
startled by her light..

Once composed, I reentered
from the sylvan backdrop.
You would dare me once
to be your shining knight;
let me ascend
your treacherous steps!

Long tresses, unraveled,
a stare came down upon my shaded figure.
Send me sweet princess,
let me rise to your high tower!

She shook her head,
never to be seen or heard again.
