Break These Chains

I wrote this to describe the feelings I had after I lost a close friend to find closure

Break These Chains
That bond me to the mortal realm
Only dust remains
Of what was once felt

My body to ash
Dispersed in the wind
My time has passed
I've returned to the Earth once again

Greeted by spirits
That here used to roam
All has gone dark
But I'm not alone

My fear has been mended
And my discourse is sewn
My spirit is free
I'm coming home
