Just another bitter love poem.
On Independence Day
you proclaimed your love
in words
that only the backdraft
from a twister could imitate.

I listened intently,
knowing that our passions would generate
the perfect storm
and transform
the landscape of our desire
into a facsimile
of Armageddon.
