A Fresh New Beginning

Written July 10, 2006. A poem written to signify the attempt at a new beginning for me.

These days of love
And freedom in the air
Makes want of joy
And happiness to share
The days of darkness
Gloom and despair
Are yonder tossed
Into the canyon’s lair
Blue skies above
White clouds adrift
Eagles soaring
With the wind beneath
The smell of roses
And baby’s breath
A fresh awakening
And the end of death
