Words don't know

Words don't know, and can't understand.
The smile on a face or the touch of a hand.
Words can't hear the sound of a sigh,
They don't know the pain of saying goodbye.

But words are all I have,
To touch your heart you see.
Words, I hope they'll serve
To bring you back to me.
