Curiousity pulls me forward; closer to the spectrum of light shooting from the long crack.
I'm standing in the dark, in front of a large door; a single beam of light shines on one eye from a slight crack that runs down the middle. Through that crack I peek revealing many other doors and opportunities. Doors of reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues and violets. I take a step back scared of what is beyond my hard mahogany threshold. But curiosity pulls me forward; closer to the spectrum of light shooting from the long crack. I reach out for it, touching the rainbow from the brighter side. With a sweaty palm and racing heart I grab the cold metal handle, twisting it slightly I peek my head out the door staring my temptation in the face. Then freeze, the beauty of what is before me is too much. It's everything I am afraid of yet everything I long for. So many options, so many doors to open and discover. For now I will wait, until I fall flat on my face. Then I will no longer be able to look back, but move forward and explore the world behind those beautiful doors!
