The loss of nature unnoticed |
| The eagle sounds the warning, he flies from sea to sea. "The sun is fading, the sun is fading, what will become of me"? The whales cannot answer, they're trapped amongst debris. Sealed in an oily tomb, they struggle to get free. The forest too, cannot reply, stripped of all his leaves. And the smell of his burning bark, drifts far in the morning breeze. So he calls out to the skies above, his shrill is long and loud. "Stir up the heavens" he cries, "Bring forth your mighty clouds". But the clouds remain silent, poisoned, cloaked in blackened stain. They dare not answer him, with their tears of acid rain. Tired now, his home is gone, on concrete cliffs he rests. Searching high, searching low, he finds no place to nest. Weakened, almost silent now, few can hear his cry. He plunges to the earth below, unseen by passersby. |
