What Was It?

I'm still not sure what it was...

It was such a long time coming
So long it was in my mind

Such deeply did I for-envision it
To the present I became blind

When it arrived I hardly understood
I hardly knew what it meant

It stayed so briefly and left so fast
I didn’t see where it went

But I think that it must have
Returned to from where it came

Much time has passed and life has gone on
But I still wonder what it was all the same.
